2 2 A Comprehensive Range of Couplings and Adaptors Product quality The complete coupling range is manufactured by AVK in accordance with our ISO 9001 certification and tested in accordance with the WRC Water Bye-Laws scheme, ensuring the high quality AVK is known for world wide. All components including bolts and nuts are coated for optimum corrosion protection. All couplings and adaptors are pre-assembled to allow quick and efficient installation without the use of lubricants or special tools. All types are pressure nominated at 16 bar pressure. Four product lines cover all applications AVK s range of couplings and adaptors consists of four individual product lines supplementing each other, thus enabling our customer to emphasize special demands or applications regardless of the pipe material being of ductile iron, PVC, steel or asbestos cement pipes: AVK Combi-flange Flange of ductile iron with epoxy coating to DIN Sealing ring of SBR rubber. Tension ring of Gunmetal to BS 1400 LG2. AVK combi-flanges are used for the assembly of valves and hydrants in the pipe-laying of new piping systems. The combi-flanges are also used for the renewal of old valves in existing piping systems. AVK Supa Range Sleeves and gland rings of ductile iron with epoxy coating to DIN Bolts and nuts of mild steel with rilsan coating to WIS EPDM gasket for water and NBR gasket for gas applications. The AVK Supa Range is used for the assembly of pipes of any kind of pipe material, such as repair of old piping systems. At the same time this range offers a total angular deflection of ±8. This is a most essential feature for repair and replacement in case of settlements. AVK Fabricated range Sleeves and gland rings of mild steel with epoxy coating to WIS Bolts and nuts of galvanized steel, zinc plated and passivated. EPDM gasket. The AVK fabricated range of couplings and flange adaptors are suitable for all pipes bigger than 400 mm. They are dedicated to this purpose with a total tolerance of 11 mm. They are primarily used for transmission pipe lines. AVK Orion range Body and gland rings of ductile iron with epoxy coating to DIN Bolts, nuts and washers of teflon coated steel, alternatively of stainless steel. NBR rubber gasket. The new AVK Orion range of couplings offers a very high angular deflection of ±16. This is of great importance in the process of pipe-laying in stony ground or in case of a curved lay of piping.

3 3 Maximum Pipe Coverage and Flexibility for all Applications AVK Supa Range with wide tolerance span for standard applications The AVK Supa Range of straight couplings, stepped couplings and flange adaptors ranges from DN 40 to DN 400, and features a maximum tolerance of up to 26 mm and a total angular deflection of ±8 degrees. The unique gasket design with moulded ribs ensures that any minor imperferction in the pipe is absorbed by the gasket thus ensuring safe mounting on all pipe material regardless of size and condition of the pipe, and with a torque as low as 40-50Nm. With the wide tolerance span the AVK Supa Range is one of the most flexible coupling systems on the market. Stocks are kept at one size per nominal diameter, thus offering both economical and practical benefits to end users. The unique gasket design with moulded ribs ensures that any minor imperferction in the pipe is absorbed by the gasket AVK Orion range with high deflection for special applications The AVK Orion range of ultra wide tolerance couplings and flange adaptors are available from DN 50 to DN 300. The Orion range features a sealing range of up to 35 mm with a total angular deflection of ±16 degrees, and is designed for joining all pipe materials. The specially developed rubber quality used for the sealing ensures a highly stable mounting on any kind of pipe material. 4 4 AVK Fabricated Couplings and Adaptors and AVK Dismantling Joints AVK Fabricated range for large diameter applications The AVK fabricated straight, stepped couplings and adaptors ranging from DN 350 to DN 1200 have been been specially designed for joining large diameter pipes with a defined outside diameter. The couplings have a tolerance of up to 11 mm and are capable of a total angular deflection of ±2 degrees. All are fabricated according to the manufacturers' pipe tolerances, and special or non-standard sizes can be manufactured to order. The range is suitable for water and sewage applications up to PN 16 in all upvc, steel, ductile and cast iron pipe systems. AVK dismantling joints AVK dismantling joints have been developed to provide optimum flexibility in the planning, installation and later removal, if necessary, of flanged equipment in large sizes. The dismantling joint compensates for axial displacement of the pipe during installation/dismantling as it allows for longitudinal adjustment by telescopic action between the inner and outer flange body. Once the required length is achieved, the joint can be locked with the threaded rods and nuts. The maximum tolerance of +/-60 mm offers great flexibility. Further, the design with U-formed flange drillings, separate bolts on the gland ring and only few connecting rods, provides easy installation. Therefore AVK dismantling joints generate cost reductions in installation and dismantling, and eliminate the need for more expensive anchoring systems. 5 5 AVK Combi-flange System with One Flange for All Pipe materials AVK's combi-flange system consists of a wide range of flanges, sealing types and support bushes. The wide range offering the flexibility of using the same flange for all the different pipe materials has resulted in world-wide acknowledgement and usage of the system within the water supply and sewage sectors. The flange adaptor is made of ductile iron GGG-50, and is available with PN 10 and PN 16 drillings. Standard non tensile resistant sealings are available for PVC or cast iron in DN Tensile resistant sealings are available for cast iron, PVC and PE pipes in Support bushes of stainless steel for PE-pipes are available for PE 80 and PE 100 pipes (SDR 11 and SDR 17) When installing combi-flanges for PE-pipes, a support bush is always to be used to avoid leakage due to deformation of the PE-pipe over the years. AVK support bushes are adjustable enabling an easy and quick mounting. AVK combi-flanges are ideal for renovation of existing installations AVK series 38 with PE pipe end/flanged end when an extra long face to face dimension is needed. Spigot end gate valves fitted with combi-flanges offer great flexibility at replacement of flanged valves in cast iron mains When using tensile resistant combi-flanges, further anchoring of the flange connection is not necessary, and the combi-flange system is thus a cost effective solution.
