3 I THE WAHLSTEDT SUPPLY CHAIN When Gary Wahlstedt developed his building company he wanted to improve the efficiency, timeliness and costeffectiveness of building houses in regional areas. In his pursuit of this he identified the single biggest constraint in regional building was the supply chain of building products and materials. Steelframelogix is part of the Wahlstedt Group that designs and manufactures steel framing for walls, flooring and roofing. Buildlogix is part of the Wahlstedt Group that designs and manufactures timber housing products, and supplies other building materials, tools and consumables. OUR TRUSTED SUPPLIERS To address this Gary set about establishing his own supply chain, and today has one of the most efficient scalable operations within Regional Australia comprised of Related Entities and Group Partners. The Wahlstedt Supply Chain supports the building operations end to end, and supports the construction of dwellings in as little at 19 weeks. The Wahlstedt Group proudly supports regional communities and industry skills growth through the employment of apprentices and trainees across all Group Operations. We also subsidise and sponsor apprentice training with other regional trades and services.

At Wahlstedt our planners, designers and construction teams work towards achieving maximum Star Energy Ratings per dwelling. Our teams start with the basic principles of Residential Zoning Orientation, then incorporate best practice research into each build. We rely upon information from many sources, including Industry Associations, University Sector, Sustainability Councils and the Australian, State and Local Governments. When we plan for affordable housing it is critical that we create maximum sustainability. This includes a number of factors such as: What impact does the design have on the community? How do we design the house to support lifestyles? Have we maximised the use of passive energy? Are the materials we use working with the design? Does our design make it easy to minimise energy use? Is the design efficient in its water use? Designing to the Climate Zone is important. South Australia has three different climate zones based on the ABCB Energy Efficient Zoning System. With consideration given to some exempt parts of South Australia, the majority of new homes must achieve a six star energy rating.
