3 1. BACKGROUND Established in 2003, Tawanda Construction and Projects is a Level 3 BBBEEE Contributor and 100% black owned Civil and Construction company based in Johannesburg South Africa. We specialise in Brickwork, Formwork, Plastering, Concrete Floors, Concrete Slabs, Tiling, Painting and Paving. We have sub-contracted for reputable Commercial and Retail developers, namely Trencon, Stefanutti Stocks, Farquharson and Concor Building. We recently expanded into Bulk Earth Works and Plant Hire. We have the experience and know-how to work on Commercial and Retail projects as well as construction of housing developments, including complexes and large residential estates. 2. VISION,MISSION & VALUES VISION The vision of Tawanda Construction and Projects is to provide quality services in civil and construction industries, with safe methods at the cost effective to the client. We aim to create employment and skills development in communities we re tasked to work in and to improve the standard of construction by building to expected quality using safe methods of construction, giving value to the money of the client. Mission Tawanda Construction and Projects intend to improve the standard of living by empowering disadvantaged communities by providing employment and skills development to people in the communities where Tenders are awarded. It is also our mission to improve the standard of civil and construction quality in our country by using skilled and competitive employees. 6 5. DESIGN AND CONSTRUCT (TURNKEY SOLUTIONS) Integral to the successful implementation of construction projects is the capacity to manage the overall project. In building terms, this is commonly referred to as being the Implementing agents. This function entails the overall project management, from the sourcing of land, bulk and link infrastructure, appointment and management of the professional team, and the physical delivery of the project, be it civil infrastructure/housing and/or both. 6. TRANSPORT & COMMUNICATION To maintain an effective communication and transportation we provide our workforce with reliable transport. This enables us to increase production level and meet set targets.we got 2(two) big tracks and 7 (seven) bakkies for transportation of our workers and material from construction sites. We still aiming to improve effectiveness and efficiency through procurement of more machinery and vehicles. 7. SAFETY Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our employees is of vital importance to us, which is why we go the extra mile to ensure that our employees always have their safety wear on. With hazards such as bricks falling from great heights and poisonous fumes always present, the construction environment poses constant potential health threats. To reduce the chances of occupational injury, we provide safety wear to all our employees and ensure that, through our site managers, safety specifications are observed and met at all times. The site manager conducts routine checks throughout the day to make sure that employees are safe at all times and that there is no risk posed to their health or safety. 8. BEE STATUS Procurement In order to support the objectives of BBBEE and to meet its relevant requirements, we ensure that all of our procurement requirements are sourced from BBBEE compliant providers.
