Focused on specialised projects within these sectors, the group s core business includes bulk earthworks, road construction, road and land rehabilitation, routine road maintenance, civil construction within the road reserve, township infrastructure development, specialised concrete works including the construction of reinforced concrete structures as well as the maintenance, repair and rehabilitation of complex structures and large buildings. 5 MINE INFRASTRUCTURE CONSTRUCTION Access to highly skilled resources backed by technical expertise and extensive experience enables VEA to offer a full turnkey infrastructure development service to the mining sector. Starting with the construction of infrastructure, including roads and services such as storm water, sewer and water reticulation, the company s capability extends to bulk earthworks and building of materials handling infrastructure such as rail links and load out stations. Overburden stripping and land rehabilitation is also a service provided by the contractor. In addition to this, VEA undertakes maintenance and other remedial works, both above and below ground, and this includes work on all concrete structures to ensure integrity and safety.

Within Budget. civil construction VEA offers specialist civil construction skills and undertakes complex projects that include repair and rehabilitation of large structures such as major road underpasses, culverts and bridges. The scope of specialised services offered includes structural and cosmetic repairs as well as concrete rehabilitation. Full assessments are conducted on all sites to ascertain the exact requirements prior to remedial work beginning. Solutions range from basic concrete patch repair work to structural grouting and concrete crack injection. This offering extends to repair and rehabilitation of large campuses as well as individual buildings. It also includes the installation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems. VEA undertakes both once-off projects as well as long terms contracts. This typically includes work on commercial and institutional buildings such as industrial structures, shopping centres, hospitals, prisons, border posts, schools, colleges and universities, logistics depots, military and security barracks and key national points.
