4 MAIN OBJECTIVES 1. Introduce low power (up to 10 kw) fuel cell captive fleets in selected early market niches for transport to enhance public awareness and acceptance in four European Regions (in France, Spain, Germany and Italy) 2. Demonstrate a significant number of Common fuel cell power modules (158) coming from four European fuel cell manufacturers in transport applications, to achieve a minimum critical mass for early industrialization, gaining a significant reduction of costs. 3. Set up a micro-infrastructure for hydrogen refueling including logistics, maintenance services, monitoring, training 4. Address cross-cutting actions such as regulations & standards, costs issues, environmental impact, safety, policy encourage, etc.

14 Mobility Partner BVG By the end of 2007, the BVG will operate 14 MAN buses with hydrogen internal combustion engines in the framework of HyFLEET:CUTE Thereby running the world s largest fleet of environment-friendly hydrogen buses

17 Specific advantages of hydrogen cars with fuel cell power trains and internal combustion engines Both concepts show specific advantages and potentials. The build-up of a hydrogen infrastructure and the development of cars is the joint task of the oil industry and the car manufacturers. Fuel-cell power train + very agile and silent + zero emission vehicles + High system effectiveness H 2 -internal combustion engine + high power density + relatively low costs of production + proven long life span
