4 BIOGRAPHIES BIOGRAPHY John Batten John Batten is the Global Director of Water and Global Cities Director at Arcadis, the world s leading design and consultancy for built and natural assets. John has more than three decades of experience in the urban water and environmental fields, and now leads a global portfolio of thirteen cities for Arcadis as well as the global water business line. John focuses on building resiliency, encouraging regeneration and expanding mobility in urban centers. Arcadis global water business is focused on the entire water cycle, from source to tap and back to nature and delivers outcomes around resiliency, efficiency and quality. Mr. Batten also has considerable experience in maintenance management of wastewater treatment plants, with special emphasis on developing and administering operations and maintenance training programs. Piet Dircke Mr. Dircke is the Arcadis Global Leader for Water Management. He is Water Management expert by training and has 30 years of global working experience in urban resiliency, flood protection, water management, waterfront development and climate change adaptation and he is considered a leading global expert in these fields. He presented numerous times at major global conferences, gave hundreds of interviews to leading global magazines and papers. Shannon Spence Renuka Gunasekara Ms. Spence is the leader of the Arcadis Risk and Resilience Management Practice. In this capacity she has responsibility for the security aspects of all design projects including risk assessments, emergency response planning, physical security, cyber security and contaminant warning systems. She has managed the largest of Arcadis security and emergency response projects for water and wastewater treatment facilities. Also, She helped author the J AWWA Standard for the execution of all hazard vulnerability assessments and she is familiar with the evaluation of threats, and the appropriate detect/ deter/ response actions necessary to mitigate vulnerabilities. Ms. Spence is a Vice President with 28 years of experience in the field. Ms. Spence is considered a national leader in the area of water sector security. She helped author the J Standard, has advised the EPA on water sector security and managed the security and emergency preparedness column in the Journal AWWA for five years. Mr. Gunasekara is a Technical Director in Arcadis Water Engineering Team based in the UK and he brings technical excellence, innovation and added value to projects. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Water and Environmental Manager. Renuka is a recognized holistic flood risk and sustainable water management expert in the UK. Mr. Gunasekara has over 20 years of experience in the UK and overseas encompassing Sustainable Drainage, flood risk appraisals, Surface Water Management Plans, Water Infrastructure Studies, civil engineering design, development planning, climate change adaptation, grant funding applications and stakeholder engagement. 4

5 BIOGRAPHIES ( c o n t i n u e d ) BIOGRAPHY Giles Booth Mr. Booth is the Arcadis Global Leader for Conveyance & Networks. Giles is an expert in advising on the delivery and management of water and wastewater services in UK, Europe, Middle East and Australia. He has particular expertise in client-side transaction advice in water sector Public Private Partnerships (PPP). Giles is a Chartered Water and Environmental Manager, a Chartered Environmentalist and member of the Institute of Water and the Society for Environment. Eugene Seah Sunny Sim: Mr. Seah is the Arcadis Singapore Country Head and the Singapore City Executive. He is also the Group Managing Director of Langdon & Seah Singapore Pte Ltd and the representative in the Sustainability Group. Eugene is also leading the drive in Building Information Modelling and Contract Administration and Dispute Management. Mr. Seah is involved in projects and is hands-on with getting value and quality services to his clients. Eugene also embellishes the Quantity Surveying scope with sustainable economics, green approaches and BIM with the views of project efficacy. Besides core Quantity Surveying work, Eugene researches into Value Management, Risk Management, Sustainability Management, Law and Contracts, Information Technology in Construction as well as Project Management. He also lectures on Green Issues in Singapore and overseas. Mr. Sim is currently a Director in Arcadis Singapore Office. Sunny has been leading and managing projects teams and project quantity surveyors on all professional cost and commercial management and quantity surveying services. His market sector projects experiences includes water, theme parks, leisure, sports and entertainment, offices, commercial, retail, hotels, residential and public housings, educational institutions, conservation projects, master planning, litigation, arbitration and mediation proceedings. Sunny has experiences in projects adopting different contract procurement methods; ranging from conventional lump sum contracts, measurement contracts, design and build contracts and management contract methods. Sunny is Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers. He is also a registered member of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Singapore Institute of Building, Society of Construction Law and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Sunny is a certified Green Mark Manager and a certified BIM Manager in Singapore. 5
