1 CONTACT: RAE OH, JOH SAFETY ( D f S ) P A R T 1 BACKGROUND Participants of this introductory course will gain the knowledge to understand the latest WSH guidelines (DfS) published by WSHC on 1st August Note: This set of guidelines replaces the Guidelines on DfS in Buildings and Structures (first issued in 2008, first revision in 2011).

3 OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this introductory course, participants will have the knowledge to work together with stakeholders such as Developers, DfS Professionals, Designers and Contractors/ Subcontractors to address risks at source and plan for safe work in regard to a building or structure as a workplace. By working together, they can identify and eliminate or reduce, as far as reasonably practicable, all foreseeable design risk (s) to any person's safety or health.

5 MR OH BOON CHYE, JASON REGISTERED DFS PROFESSIONAL TRAINER WITH WSH COUNCIL Jason obtained his B.Eng (Civil) (Hons) from the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom and furthered his study at the National University of Singapore for his Master of Science (Safety, Health and Environmental Technology). Jason ventured into construction industry starting from the ground as a Project Engineer, Safety Officer/ Manager, Designer, Project Manager/ Director. The projects ranged from heavy industry warehouse/ factory, School, Private and Public Residential housing projects in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, China and United Arab Emirates. Jason has more than 20 years of experience in Project Engineering Construction, Design and Management. He is the Chief Operating Officer of BCEG International (Singapore) Pte Ltd/ BCEG International (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. He was the Chief Operating Officer of Abu Dhabi precast, Executive Director of Linair Bio-energy Pte Ltd, General Manager of Metal Technology LLC, United Arab Emirates and a few reputed A1 Contractors in Singapore. Jason was the Chairman of Health & Safety Engineering Technical Committee of IES (2011 to 2015); He also served as the Executive Committee of IOSH (Singapore Branch) in year 2011 to Convenor for the CP 63 (2005) review committee (Code of Practice for the Lifting of persons in work platforms suspended from cranes (replaced by SS617:2016); Representing IES in the Design for Safety subcommittee administered under the Workplace Safety & Health Council (Construction and Landscape) committee since Since 2011, he is a registered DfS Professional Trainer with WSH Council.
