7 KIERA KEEGAN Audit Trainee Joined Mazars in 2015 As an Audit Trainee in Mazars, you are given a high level of exposure to a different range of clients and sectors. As you progress year on year, you are given more responsibility and exposure in your area of work. 6

8 Audit and Assurance Put simply, auditing is the evaluation of an organisation s financial statements and records to ensure all transactions have been properly accounted for. This service provides assurance to shareholders and investors that their business is operationally sound. In Mazars audit assignments are typically divided into sections. In the first and second year of your training contract you will be responsible for areas such as payroll, fixed assets, share capital and debtors and creditors. In your final year you will be involved in the planning and completion stages of an audit. You will be reporting into Partners on work in progress, taking on greater responsibility. Training in audit will provide you with a real insight into how a business works and operates. Completing your training contract with Mazars will ensure you become a wellrounded business advisor and qualified Chartered Accountant. 7

9 ROBERT MCGARRY Consulting Trainee Joined Mazars in 2017 As a Consulting Trainee you are provided with the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients and sectors on a number of diverse projects. Mazars also strive to ensure you receive the support and training necessary to develop your skills and grow as a Consultant. 8

10 Consulting The Mazars Consulting team provide advisory services to public and private sector clients in service lines such as Strategy, Business Process, Organisational Development, Human Resources, Decision Support and IT Consulting. As a Consultant you will work across our service lines to deliver tailored advisory solutions to our clients. You will be provided with both formal and on the job training to support you in assisting clients with analysis of their challenges and the development of value adding solutions. Mazars Consulting operates in an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to develop skills in problem solving, facilitation and thought leadership. Working with Mazars Consulting will allow you to accelerate the development of excellent technical skills through working on a daily basis with our Partners and Directors and participating in client meetings with Senior Executives. 9

11 MARK WOODHOUSE Tax Trainee Joined Mazars in 2014 Our weekly tax training sessions have not only increased my tax technical knowledge but have given me the confidence to interact more effectively with clients

12 Tax Mazars tax department provides a full range of tax services to its clients. Trainees will work on both tax compliance and tax advisory in the areas of Corporation Tax, Income Tax, VAT, Research & Development and Global Mobility Tax. It s not all about preparing tax returns. Tax trainees are in a unique position to recommend how to structure a business and advise on a range of tax issues which makes for very interesting, diverse and challenging work. As a tax trainee you will work with national and international clients, small and medium sized enterprises, private and publicly quoted companies and individuals to help them to structure their businesses and financial affairs in a tax efficient manner. Throughout your training contract you will learn to develop tailored ideas and solutions to bring added value to your client portfolio

14 Training and Development Mazars offers an extensive learning and development programme to trainees throughout the duration of their training contract. Trainees attend a two week induction course with their intake to equip them with the skills and knowledge to work on their first client assignment. The programme is complemented by yearly training, departmental workshops, on the job experience and elearning videos. Mazars supports trainees in attaining a professional qualification most suited to your chosen career. Trainees receive generous study leave, pre-exam in-house training and financial support towards course and exam fees. Mazars is proud to be recognised as an approved employer by Chartered Accountants Ireland and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants because of the support and guidance we provide our trainees in achieving their qualification. You have the option of choosing the ACA or the ACCA route when training with Mazars. Trainees in the tax department also have the option to become Chartered Tax Advisors with the Irish Tax Institute. 13

16 KAREN GALVIN Audit & Assurance Manager Global Mobility Mazars offers international job opportunities to staff around the globe. With offices in over 79 countries, our global mobility programme gives our high potential and high performing staff the option to develop their careers by participating in short or long term assignments abroad. Karen, who has been with Mazars since leaving college, recently got the much sought after opportunity to work in our London office located in the centre of the city just a stone s throw from The Tower of London! Karen had always wanted to travel for work without being too far away from home so London seemed like the perfect opportunity. Once she had completed her FAE exams and had been promoted to Assistant Manager she expressed her interest in an international opportunity and weeks later flew out to get settled in London. Karen has just returned to our Dublin office, it is great to have her back! 25 15

17 Sports and Social The social committee runs numerous events throughout the year which is a great way for new trainees to fit right in and have fun. Dinner, drinks and The Stunning what a great night at Leopardstown race evening. Mazars tag rugby team at the Summer League 2017 where we even brought home some silverware Our Christmas party is an excuse to swap suits for some glamour and socialise into the early hours. 16
