9 Rural Electrification ECUADOR Supply, installation and maintenance of 123 Solar Systems Description: Supply, installation and maintenance of 123 solar systems for the isolated communities of the western region. Isofoton s subsidiary, Isoequinoccial has been awarded with this project. Training of local technicians. Customer: Promec. CONAM Equateur Amount: Euros Borrower: Own Funds Schedule: 2005 Isoequinoccial S.A.
10 Water Supply It is used for the treatment and supply of potable water for irrigation or for industrial use. It avoids the risk of pollution and the transport problems of the diesel used for the generators. The water can be used as a way for storing energy, reducing the cost of the project as they include no batteries.

24 Desalination Used for water desalination thru an inverse osmosis process, allowing to produce drinkable water from sea water or salubrious water, where there are no resources in arid regions which may take advantage of its high radiation index. This way, we avoid the over exploitation of aquifers. It is an economic and technically easy to install solution.
