2 HISTORY/PROFILE/VISION SELMA Ship Electric Marine Control is a marine engineering and manufacturing company specializing in the design, development and installation of integrated marine electrical, automation and control systems in ships worldwide. Founded by Emmanuel Klados in 1987, and its continuing mission was to maintain its leading position in the global marine technical control industry. SELMA Systems are based on modular design using heavy duty marine type equipment which in most cases is tailor made according to vessel requirements. SELMA in 2012 released a specially designed SEES Ship Energy Efficiency System developing new modern control techniques using VFDs on auxiliary machineries with unique performance. 9 SEES : SHIP ENERGY EFFICIENCY SYSTEM System Overview SELMA in 2012 released a specially designed SEES Ship Energy Efficiency System developing new modern control techniques using VFDs on auxiliary machineries with unique performance. The system performs intelligent control on the Cooling Sea Water pumps, Engine Room Ventilation Fan motors as well as on the Vacuum Condenser Cooling Sea Water pump, via Variable Speed Drives, leading to significant fuel savings as a result of lower electrical power consumptions of the pumps and fans motors.
10 SEES : SHIP ENERGY EFFICIENCY SYSTEM Results from typical real installation example on a Suezmax tanker vessel. For the same operating conditions, before and after SEES installation, the typical savings energy savings are 167 kw.
11 CONTINUOUS WATER QUALITY MONITORING SYSTEM (Boiler/COPT Condenser/FW Generator) SELMA Continuous Water Quality Monitoring System is a fully integrated and modular solution, utilizing smart instrumentation, allowing vessel operators to obtain real-time and accurate monitoring over a range of important parameters of the steam/water circuit. Failure to maintain the plant s correct water treatment and control leads to: Reduced boiler operational efficiency Undesirable maintenance downtimes Accumulation of scale Corrosive Water Conditions Reduced Steam purity Expensive repairs
