3 Grunds fr Design Service Life Extensin (2) The Bulgarian pwer industry at the mment depends n the imprt f energy resurces, and the develpment f the nuclear energy facilitates reducing the dependence n supplies f hydrcarbn energy carriers, allws fr stable prvisin f electricity t industry and the ppulatin. NPP reduces the carbn dixide emissin in the atmsphere, which is ne f the majr tasks f the energy plicy f the Eurpean Unin. This fact allws fr reducing the cst f CO2 emissins allwances and t imprve the eclgical situatin.
4 Grunds fr Design Service Life Extensin (3) Fr the benefit f the Nuclear Pwer Plant als speaks the indicatr f prfitability f the prductin f " nuclear " electricity: 1kilwatt-hur, generated by the renewable energy surces is 3 15 times mre expensive cmpared t that frm the NPP, and a kilwatt-hur generated by the Bulgarian TPP is 5 times mre expensive than the sale price f the NPP. 5 Grunds fr Design Service Life Extensin (4) In 2012, the Kzlduy NPP share in the natinal prductin was equal t 33.5% Replacement capacities fr such quantities f generated electricity are currently nt available in the cuntry. The design peratin life is determined by the Chief Designer at 30 years, in accrdance with the design basis as f the time f the cnstructin. The lng experience f peratin and the actual peratin data fr equipment wear, prvide pprtunity fr perating NPP Units service life extensin. The design basis peratin life is extended at least by 20 years fr all pwer Units with VVER-1000 type f reactr, В-320 mdel, units been in peratin fr almst 30-years. Kzlduy NPP Units 5&6 are similar t the pinted ut Russian pwer units. The abve circumstances give reasns fr Kzlduy Units 5&6 designed peratin life extensin.
6 Premises fr Design Service Life Extensin Fr enhancement f safety and efficiency f electric pwer generatin frm Kzlduy NPP in 2008, a full scpe Units 5&6 Mdernizatin Prgram was cmpleted. This prgram takes int accunt all IAAE recmmendatins. After cmpletin f the mdernizatin, Kzlduy NPP has mved n t Units 5 & 6 Investment Prgram implementatin. The main pririties f the prgram were units lifetime management and ensuring their beynd design basis peratin, maintenance and enhancement f safety f peratin and safety f SFSF, as well as increase f reliability f the Switchyard. Further activities related t the investment prgram cntinue with replacement f bslete, utdated and f expired lifetime equipment, and increase f units efficiency, and new technlgies implementatin.
7 Measures fr Design Service Life Extensin Fr peratin life extensin ver the designed peratin life, Kzlduy NPP has develped a Terms f Reference Cmprehensive survey f the actual cnditin and assessment f the residual life f KNPP Units 6&7 equipment and facilities and Offers fr public prcurement executin. In 2012 started the wrk within a cntract between the Cnsrtium f Rsenergatm Cncern JSC EDF and Kzlduy NPP. Risk Engineering ltd., participatin is prvided in the fllwing directins: Cmprehensive inspectin f the electrical equipment as well as the equipment f the KNPP Unit 5 I&C fr prcess systems; Cmprehensive inspectin f the KNPP Unit 5 Buildings and Facilities.
