DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Functins Measures f Success GENERAL Develp, implement and mnitr the Cllege s marketing and cmmunicatins strategies in cllabratin with the Cllege Principal. Marketing and Cmmunicatins are develped and implemented in line with Cllege bjectives Manage the marketing budget in cnjunctin with the Principal, ensuring spend is prprtinate t cverage achieved. Annual marketing spend is maintained at r under budgeted levels and prvides fr effective cverage Page 1 f 5
2 Assist and prvide advice n matters f plicy relating t marketing and cmmunicatins. Prvide advice, feedback and recmmendatins n matters that may impact upn the Cllege s reputatin. Cllege plicies are accurate, relevant, timely and adhere t industry best practice. Prvided in a timely manner. In additin t the Principal, as directed, reprt t the Cllege Executive n the effectiveness f marketing and cmmunicatins campaigns. Prvided in a timely manner. OPERATIONAL Act as the central pint f cntact fr all internal stakehlders seeking supprt with regards t marketing, cmmunicatins r PR issues. Maintain the Cllege Standards Manual. Prvide guidance and assistance t staff and ther internal stakehlders in using the Standards Manual. Devise and execute the Cllege s Master Cntent Calendar. The Cntent Calendar cntains a schedule f cntent and cllateral t be generated fr all platfrms, as well as a list f imprtant events/prjects and assciated tasks. Manage the Cllege s phtgraphy and videgraphy requirements. Manage the Cllege s relatinships with third-party suppliers, including negtiatin f services with designers, printers, mail huse, publishers, media agencies etc. Manage the nging functinality and cntent f the Cllege website. Marketing Supprt Request lgs are mnitred and Marketing Department wrkflws managed t allw fr timely cmpletin f all tasks t a cnsistently high standard. Staff are aware f and actively use all available channels t engage the services f the Marketing Department. Cntent Calendar is ppulated ahead f time and cntent is created and published acrss all platfrms in a timely manner and t a high standard f executin. Directin is prvided t the Digital Marketing and Graphics Design and Cmmunicatins assistants and external prviders are engaged t cver all majr events. Cntracts and prvisin f services are negtiated in the interests f the Cllege. Agreements are cst effective and service prviders deliver high quality results t deadline. Website is peratinal and fully functinal and cntent is accurate, relevant and timely. Practively lead the planning, implementatin and evaluatin f marketing and cmmunicatins strategies fr prjects and events. Stakehlders are engaged in a timely manner. 3 COMMUNICATIONS Prductin f regular publicatins, including biannual magazine, Annual Reprt, weekly newsletter and annual calendar. Includes surcing, writing and editing cpy and images, and managing design, print and distributin. Prductin f annual Cllege yearbk (apprx. 200 page), including surcing and editing cpy and images frm a range f stakehlders, and managing design, print and distributin. Create, develp and publish scial media cntent in line with the cntent calendar. Manage the Cllege s scial media presences t ensure cmmunity cntributins are apprpriate. MARKETING Manage Cllege s marketing prgram, develping and executing marketing strategy acrss traditinal and digital media. Create and maintain media schedule, assessing advertising requirements and relevant pprtunities. Publicatins are prduced and distributed n time, t a high standard and in line with crprate image guidelines. Yearbk is prduced and distributed n time, t high standard and in line with crprate image guidelines Scial media platfrms remain lively and are frequently updated with engaging cntent. Directin is prvided t Digital Marketing Assistant and marketing strategy is develped and executed in line with Cllege bjectives. Media scheduled is created and maintained in line with marketing strategy. MARKET INTELLIGENCE Cnduct market research t infrm the Cllege s strategic marketing bjectives. Principal is infrmed as t strengths, weaknesses, pprtunities and threats. Surce infrmatin n ther independent schls and the independent schl sectr generally t assist the Principal and Registrar with benchmarking and analysis. Principal is kept infrmed abut develpments at cmpetitr schls, as well as in the independent schl sectr. PUBLIC RELATIONS Keep the Principal abreast f all media pprtunities. Reprted in a timely manner. Write cpy fr media releases, and act as the Cllege s liaisn with key media utlets t maximise psitive expsure and minimise risk/damage. Act as the Cmmunicatins Officer in the Cllege s Emergency Management Team. Representatin f the Cllege in the media is accurate and psitive Attend training as required. Page 3 f 5
4 OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Attend Cllege functins as directed (sme are utside regular wrking hurs). Any ther tasks as deemed apprpriate. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Tertiary qualificatins in Marketing, Cmmunicatins, PR, Business Management OR an equivalent level f expertise gained frm a cmbinatin f educatin, training and/r experience. 2-3 years experience in a similar rle. Demnstrated experience in develping, implementing and evaluating marketing, cmmunicatins and public relatins activities and prmtinal events. Highly develped IT skills, including Micrsft Office Prfessinal and Adbe Suite InDesign, Phtshp, Illustratr, Auditin and Premiere. Demnstrated utstanding writing, editing and prf reading skills with strng attentin t detail and a creative apprach. Extensive experience briefing design/creative agencies and managing the design/marketing cllateral prcess. Excellent interpersnal skills, with demnstrated ability t build rapprt and interact effectively at all levels within the Cllege. Ability t wrk t tight deadlines. Ability t wrk under pressure t manage multiple prjects and cmpeting deadlines in a busy, fast-paced envirnment. Experience wrking as part f a chesive team, and leading by example. Exceptinal client service. Prject management skills and experience. Understanding f scial media and the digital marketing landscape.
