High Rise Residential Flats & Shops (II) ACTIVITY 1) Construction, operation or decommissioning of the Project involving actions, which will cause physical changes in the locality (topography, land use, changes in water bodies, etc.) Sr.. Information/Checklist confirmation Yes / Details there of (with approximate quantities/rates, wherever possible) with source of information data 1.1 Permanent or temporary change in land use, land cover or topography including increase in intensity of land use (with respect to local land use plan) Yes The proposed construction project is to be developed on an open land area hence a permanent change in land use will occur. However the same will not be environmentally adverse. Various construction activities, construction material handling & storage, construction waste disposal etc. will bring change to the site topsoil. However, construction wastes are inert in nature and will be used for levelling, roads, pavements etc. at project site itself. 1.2 Clearance of existing land, vegetation and buildings? It may be noted that there will not be any change in land use, land cover, or topography during the operational activities. t applicable due to the fact that the proposed project is to be developed on an open land area. 1.3 Creation of new land uses? Yes Creation of new land use will not bring change in topography, land use, water bodies etc. 1.4 Pre-construction investigations e.g. bore houses, soil testing? Yes Please refer Annexure 4: Geo Technical Investigation Report. 1.5 Construction works? Yes Various construction activities, construction material handling & storage, construction waste disposal etc. will bring change to the site topsoil. However, construction wastes are inert in nature and will be used for levelling low lying areas and development of greenbelt area at project site itself. Form 1 4 of 18

High Rise Residential Flats & Shops 1.6 Demolition works? demolition work will be required to carry out, since the proposed project is to be developed on an open land area. 1.7 Temporary sites used for construction works or housing of construction workers? 1.8 Above ground buildings, structures or earthworks including linear structures, cut and fill or excavations. 1.9 Underground works including mining or tunnelling? Yes t applicable because local contractors /workers will be given preference for various construction activities. Since local workers/ contractors are easily available, there will be no requirement for housing for construction workers. The proposed project is to be developed on an open land area. Various construction activities, construction material handling & storage, construction waste disposal etc. will bring change to the site topsoil. However, construction wastes are inert in nature and will be used for levelling low lying areas and excavated soil will be used for the development of greenbelt area at project site itself. t Applicable 1.10 Reclamation works? t Applicable 1.11 Dredging? t Applicable 1.12 Offshore structures? t Applicable 1.13 Production & manufacturing processes? 1.14 Facilities for storage of goods or materials? 1.15 Facilities for treatment or disposal of solid waste or liquid effluents? Yes t Applicable Storage of goods and materials to be used for various construction activities will bring changes to the site topsoil; however, the effect would be very marginal. Approximately 282 KL/day of sewage to be generated during the operation phase will be discharged to VMC drainage system. Approximately 1,179 Kg/day of municipal waste to be generated during the operation phase will be collected by VMC for ultimate disposal to landfill site. Form 1 5 of 18

1.16 Facilities for long term housing of operational workers? 1.17 New road, rail or sea traffic during construction or operation? 1.18 New road, rail, air waterborne or other transport infrastructure including new or altered routes and stations, ports, airports etc? 1.19 Closure or diversion of existing transport routes or infrastructure leading to changes in traffic movements? 1.20 New or diverted transmission lines or pipelines? 1.21 Impoundment, damming, culverting, realignment or other changes to hydrology of watercourses or aquifers? High Rise Residential Flats & Shops Therefore, this activity would not have adverse impact on topography, land use, changes in water bodies etc. Since, local workers will be employed; no housing facilities will be required for operational workers. The proposed project is to be developed within Harni area of Vadodara City where existing transport facilities are enough to take care of increased traffic. new road, rail, air waterborne or other transport infrastructure including new or altered routes and stations, ports, airports is envisaged. Existing transportation facilities will be used for the proposed project. t Applicable such activities are required to be carried out. t Applicable because water will be obtained through VMC during operation phase and purchase from local water tanker suppliers during construction phase Stream crossings? t Applicable 1.23 Abstraction or transfers of water from ground or surface waters? 1.24 Changes in water bodies or the land surface affecting drainage or run-off? t Applicable because water will be obtained through VMC during operation phase and purchase from local water tanker suppliers during construction phase. t Applicable because, Excess run off water will be diverted to Three (3) percolation wells within the project site. Sewage to be generated from proposed project will be discharged to VMC drainage system. Form 1 6 of 18

1.25 Transport of personnel or materials for construction, operation or decommissioning 1.26 Long-term dismantling or decommissioning or restoration works? 1.27 Ongoing activity during decommissioning which could have an impact on the environment? 1.28 Influx of people to an area in either temporarily or permanently? Yes High Rise Residential Flats & Shops Most of the construction materials will be bought from local suppliers. It may be noted that local people will be given preference for all the activities related to the proposed project. Hence, transport of personnel or materials for construction, operation or decommissioning will not bring change to topography, land use, water bodies etc. t Applicable t Applicable As the proposed project is to develop High Rise Residential Flats (3 room + kitchen) & Shops, there will be permanent influx of people. However, it will not bring any change in the topography, land use, water bodies etc Introduction of alien species? t Applicable 1.30 Loss of native species or genetic diversity? t Applicable 1.31 Any other actions? t Applicable Form 1 7 of 18

What are the safeguards proposed? t applicable as the proposed project is a construction project. The project site is within the limits of Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC). Hospitals, schools, institutes, places of worship, community places etc. are within arm s reach. adverse effect will be caused due to the proposed project. Form 1A 11 of 15

High Rise Residential Flats & Shops (8) BUILDING MATERIALS 8.1 May involve the use of building materials with high-embodied energy. Are the construction materials produced with energy efficient processes? (Give details of energy conservation measures in the selection of building materials as their energy efficiency) 8.2 Transport and handling of materials during construction may result in pollution, noise and public nuisance. What measures are taken to minimize the impacts? We are planning to use lowest embodied energy coefficient building material and minimize all over energy consumption. Transport and handling of materials during construction may result in minor increase in concentration of suspended particulate matter (SPM) as well as noise. The said effects would be for a short span of time and temporary. Tarpaulin sheets will be covered on the material during the transportation. Adequate stockpile height will be maintained. Water sprinkling will be done at regular intervals. To avoid dusting due to wind temporary windshield barrier will be provided with the help of galvanized sheets and bamboos. Personal Protective Equipments such as nose masks, earplugs/earmuffs, helmets, safety shoes etc. of Indian Standards will be provided to all workers. 8.3 Are recycled materials used in roads and structures? State the extent of savings achieved? 8.4 Give details of the methods of collection, segregation and disposal of the garbage generated during the operation phase of the project.
