Five (05) companies signed MoUs with LWMC. 21

25 International Consultant for WTE M/s Ecoair, a US based firm has been selected, Dr. Nicolas Tehelemis of Columbia University as lead consultant. A three-member delegation of M/s Ecoair visited Pakistan from 3 rd to 9 th December The delegation comprised of 1. Mr. Peter Kudsen (CEO, Ecoair) 2. Mr. Paul Franz Neubacher (WtE expert) 3. Mr. Qayyum Manzar (WtE expert) 25
26 Wider Consultation with academia, public & private sector organizations Consultant presented their initial findings in a wider consultative meting on Friday 6th December 2013 on a feasible option for a WTE project in Lahore. Briefing on various technologies used globally in the waste-to-energy projects. Final report on pre- feasibility submitted 26
27 Recommendations of WTE consultants Install a Circulation Fluidized Bed (CFB) incineration plant in the context of waste characterization of Lahore (high moisture contends and low calorific value). Selection of site is important to utilize electricity and heat generated during the incineration process. Electricity efficiency is 20 to 25% and if heat is included the efficiency increased to 50 to 60% Estimated cost of a plant with EU emission standards; Total investment for WtE-Plant incl. infrastructure approx. 4-6 million US$/MW 27
