2 ABOUT AMWAY INDIA ENTERPRISES Amway India Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of the US$ 10.9 billion Amway Corporation globally headquartered at Ada, Michigan, USA. Amway Corporation is one of the largest Direct Selling companies in the world. It has a presence in over 80 countries & territories. Established in 1995, Amway India commenced commercial operations in May 1998 and over the past 14 years has emerged as India s largest Direct Selling FMCG Company. The Company has its headquarters in the National Capital Region of India in Noida. Amway has invested in excess of Rs.200 crore in India of this of which nearly. Rs.22 Crore came in the form of Foreign Direct Investment. Amway India has more than 500 full time employees and has generated indirect employment for over 2000 persons at all the contract manufacturer locations. The Company has provided income-generating opportunities to over 1,000,000 active independent Amway Business Owners. Amway India provides free and unlimited training to all its distributors to help them grow their business. Amway India conducts over 20,000 training sessions during an average 12- month period with an attendance of over 2 million Amway Business Owners and prospects. The World Blind Union presented an award and citation to Amway India in 2003, for its peerless work for the blind child. Aaj Tak, one of India s leading news channels and part of the Living Media (India Today) Group presented Aaj Tak CARE Award, to Amway India in 2012, for its initiatives taken in the field of Education. CMO Asia presented Asia s Best CSR Practices Award, to Amway India in 2012, for its initiatives taken in the field of Education in NATIONAL PRESENCE In thirteen years of commercial operation, Amway India has established a nation-wide presence. The distribution and home delivery network set up with the support of independent logistics partners is spread across over 5500 locations. MANUFACTURING Almost all Amway India products are manufactured in the country through seven 3 rd party contract manufacturers. The transfer of this state-of-the-art, world-class technology, has been free of cost. 3 PRODUCTS At present, Amway India offers over 131 products in five categories. They are Personal care category, Home Care category, Nutrition & Wellness category, Cosmetics and Great Value Products. These five categories are represented by the brands of Nutrilite TM for Nutrition & Wellness, Artistry and Attitude in Beauty & Skin Care, Amway Home for the Home Care range, Satinique, Glister, Persona, G&H and Dynamite in Personal Care & Great Value Range of Products With the exception of ARTISTRY (Amway s super premium range of skin care products) and some products of Nutrilite TM, all Amway India products and bottles are manufactured in India. All products conform to the stringent global quality benchmarks and standards of Amway Corporation and of other international agencies such as USEPA-Dfe (for Amway Home). All products are packaged with a tamper-proof seal and a 100 per cent Money Back Guarantee'. If not completely satisfied with the product, the consumer is able to return it and claim 100% refund of their money. Amway products are environment friendly, and are not tested on animals. Amway encourages the return of its used product bottles for recycling and to prevent their misuse. Amway has been recognized internationally with several awards for our environmental policies and initiatives. The IDSA is an industry representative & self-regulatory body, and boasts of the most reputed international and Indian Direct Selling companies in its fold. CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY At Amway, Corporate Social Responsibility is an inherent part of its long range business strategy that shapes the value system supporting the company s vision & mission. 5 Amway India started its commercial operations in India in 1998, but it started working on CSR initiatives from The structured CSR Program came into place when Amway India s CSR arm, Amway Opportunity Foundation (AOF) got registered on 16 th March, 2001 under the Societies Registration Act XXI of The objective behind establishment of AOF is to act as the community concern arm of Amway India Enterprises to fulfill its mission and implement various projects for the betterment of Indian community, through an independent autonomous body distinct from the commercial operations of Amway. Since inception, we have been working for the less-privileged child to help them lead a better life, with special focus on the blind child. The CSR program has been more focused from 2003 when Amway One by One Campaign for Children launched across more than 80 Amway Affiliates. One by One pulls together all of our resources our employees, affiliates, Business Owners and customers to make a difference for children in need. Through this campaign, Amway has an opportunity i) to make a real, lasting difference by improving the lives of children around the world, ii) Give our Business Owners, employees, affiliates and customers a source of pride that goes beyond business. Iii) Enhance our global reputation. A BRIEF CASE STUDY ON AMWAY OPPORTUNITY FOUNDATION- ALL INDIA CONFEDERATION FOR BLIND CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE(AOF-AICB CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE) AOF The Amway Opportunity Foundation (AOF)- AICB Centre for Excellence located at Rohini, New Delhi as a vocational training center, was established in August 2008, to impart intensive training to visually challenged post-graduate students. The objective of setting up the centre was to equip visually challenged learners with primary IT skills and enhance their employability while also serving the premise of their integration with the mainstream of society. The set up included complete hardware and software (Jaws)support, internet facility, UPS, electrical wiring and air-conditioning of the room, as well as recurring costs such as computer instructor, personality development & accent trainer, electricity etc. This IT course had a time duration of one year providing students with knowledge on computers, internet, English language & Personality Development, operating a computer system and phone simultaneously which can help them in the role of customer service/call center. Since its inception the center has trained over 75 students. CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS & CSR Page 5

6 In addition to a full time dedicated computer trainer and personality development & accent trainer being deployed at the Center, The Amway HR department also imparted soft skills training to students studying at this centre to enhance their basic skills sets including Communications Skills, Interview handling, assertiveness, body language etc. For the Delhi centre, AOF also partnered with I-Train, a team of consultants to impart training on personal grooming, etiquette, motivation and team building. Considering the tangible benefits accrued by students encouraged us to upscale this initiative at a national level. So far AOF has set up 16 such computer/vocational centres across India. Ms.Ranjana Rana & Mr. Madhav Chandra Das were two bright students of batch from the AOF-AICB Center for Excellence who came out as successful working professionals, despite of their physical limitations. It was their true determination, interest and rigor that made them stand out. Madhav Chandra, with 100% vision impairment, belongs to the village Uparbarga of District Ramgarh, Jharkhand. He had done his graduation in Humanities from Satyawati College (Regular), Delhi University. After completing one year course from AOF -AICB Center for Excellence was absorbed as computer instructor at the Gurgaon center itself and since then he is imparting training to other visually challenged students. Ranjana Rana who has 75% vision loss, hails from the village Tikri of Kangra District, Himachal Pradesh and has completed her graduation in Humanities from Himachal Pradesh University. Ranjana first completed a one-year course and worked for two years at Amway India s Delhi Regional Call Centre as Executive. There she got enriched in customer care function, and later on her interest in teaching and supporting other visually challenged students moved her to join National Association for the Blind, R.K. Puram branch, New Delhi. She is presently working as the Project Incharge and helping in unleashing potential of other visually challenged students.
