BACK TO WORK PROGRAM WHAT IS THE BACK TO WORK PROGRAM? The Back to Work Program has been developed by Global Resources and Global TCC to address the upcoming and in some cases current industry challenge of getting ex-oil & Gas personnel back into the industry as the recovery continues and rigs bid to go back to work. Both Global Resources and Global TCC are trading entities of Global Resource Management Ltd (GRML) which is run by MD Steven Dunbar. These entities have been strategically aligned to provide a combined personnel supply service and a training service that can offer cost savings, fl exibility and some solutions to the problems facing Drilling Contractors surrounding the re-engagement of a workforce who may have been disengaged for - years. HOW DOES IT WORK? The Back to Work Program has been trialled with an existing client and has proven to show substantial savings in both cost and operational effi ciency. The Program works by looking at the task of up-manning not from a traditional agency viewpoint or from a training viewpoint but by combining the requirements together and forming a solution that suits. On the personnel side, GRML has adopted a complete Open Book Policy on rate calculation, constructing a set of rates for all disciplines with full client engagement, set margins and complete transparency to the rate content. Against traditional competitor rate calculations we have been able to demonstrate savings up to 10%. On the training side, GRML have a full suite of operational courses (i.e. Working at Heights, Manual Handling, Forklift Use etc.) that have been successfully delivered to Drilling Contractors over many years (under the Global TCC Trading name). Through rebalancing the internal operations and overhead of the training team and re-aligning it with personnel recruitment we are now able to offer these training courses absolutely FREE if they are tied to personnel that will be handled by the recruitment team. In addition, we recognise that there are industry essential courses which we do not offer (such as Survival, MIST etc.) and we have entered into a partnership with major training providers to supply these at a reduced cost. WHO IS IT AIMED AT? The Back to Work Program is ideally suited to any Drilling Contractor with a need to up-man a rig(s) perhaps at short notice and potentially for a short or unknown timescale. Examples would be short contract win/unknown contract length, re-activation of a stacked rig, remobilisation of a redundant crew. It is also very much aimed at helping re-activate the Drilling Workforce, by providing a route to re-training and eventual full re-employment. COMPETENCY ASSURANCE ADDITIONAL BENEFITS IMPORTANT: the program is also very much aimed at mitigating Safety Concerns, both for the personnel concerned and the Drilling Contractor and their personnel. It provides cost-effective access to all the key safety-related training (such as Risk Assessment, COSHH, HAVS, Manual Handling etc.), which enables practical re-training on safety-critical topics, for personnel who may not have been operational for some time.
WHAT ARE THE SAVINGS? On the initial re-training of personnel returning to the industry, we have calculated savings of up to 69.9% compared to using a traditional Corporate Model with a main Training Provider (based on re-engaging a typical Roughneck/Floorman). Once the initial saving is made and the person is re-engaged we would anticipate a further ongoing saving of up to 10% when compared to current competitor agency rates. As part of the program we offer to collaborate with Drilling Contractors on a fully Open Book basis. Laying bare our cost-base and agreeing a fair and appropriate profi t margin. Example rates available on request. HOW ARE THE SAVINGS ACHIEVED? Savings have been achieved by utilising a shared overhead of both people and premises between our Recruitment and Training entities. We have also successfully re-negotiated further savings on our suppliers for the likes of PPE and non-gtcc training (i.e. Survival etc.) WHAT TYPE OF TRAINING IS COVERED BY THE PROGRAM? The Back to Work Program offers the full suite of Global TCC Training which includes mainly vocational & safetyrelated topics which we believe help eliminate the risk of taking back people who had left the industry. Example courses are: Abrasive Wheels, Forklift + Refresher, HAVS, Manual Handling, Risk Assessment etc. The Program also provides the facility for GRML to offer access to our preferential rates with a rd party supplier for likes of: BOSIET/FOET, MIST, OPITO Banksman Slinger etc. HOW ARE THE SAVINGS ACHIEVED? Savings have been achieved by utilising our internal Training capability via Global TCC at no charge to the client other than administrative and catering costs. We can do this by recovering costs within the Recruitment element of the program. An example (based on re-engaging a typical Roughneck) is as follows: All of which are being passed down to rate calculation which in turn passes to our clients.
Course \ Certification GTCC Cost (BTW Program) Competitor Cost ** Renewal Frequency (years) OGUK Medical * FOET (+CA-EBS) * MIST * Drug & Alcohol Screen * months Banksman Slinger Stage 1 (OPITO) * Shoulder Measurement.50 unspecifi ed Manual Handling Permit to Work - User Risk Assessment COSHH Awareness STCW Security Awareness HAVS (Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome) Forklift - Refresher Height Abbrasive Wheels Confi ned Space Entry (with BA) Fire Warden LOLER Planner IOSH Working Safely , ,0.00 Potential Saving 69.9% * Provided by external reduced rate ** External prices taken from current competitor pricelist (May 017) Note: Some Expiry dates are reccomended rather than mandatory. WHAT IF WE HAVE AN EXCLUSIVE ARRANGEMENT WITH A TRAINING PROVIDER? The Back to Work Program does not confl ict with any current arrangement between a Drilling Contractor and an existing Training Provider. The personnel would be GRML employees at the time of training.
COMPETENCY ASSURANCE HOW DOES THE PROGRAM OFFER CREWING FLEXIBILITY? The Back to Work Program is ideally suited to give Drilling Contractors increased fl exibility of Crewing during a market of shorter contract lengths, uncertain contract extensions and new contract awards. By having the personnel as GRML employees we can offer the fl exibility of standing down crew members on short notice without any HR-related concerns, upmanning crews at short notice, evaluating personnel through hshort engagements and quickly training/ re-training personnel to ensure a level of current competency (particularly important when re-engaging personnel now outside of the industry). WHERE IS TRAINING CARRIED OUT? Training can be carried out either at our own facilities on our client premises. Client premises are our preferred location for training as we have seen many benefi ts of being able to share training time with operational briefi ngs and client induction processes etc. HOW IS COMPETENCY ASSURED? In support of the Back to Work Program GRML have been delighted to start an association with and be supported by Aberdeen Drilling Consultants (ADC). Through ADC s cutting-edge e-learning suite we have been able to create a series of online Competency Assessment tests that allow us to provide a level of Competency Assurance for key Drilling positions such as Driller, AD, Roughneck etc. with areas of testing concentrated on Well Control, Iron Roughneck operation etc. (see examples below). In addition to this we have also been able to devise (through our own internal Technical Authorities) Competency Assurance tests applicable to key positions such as Mechanic s and Electricians which again provides an additional level of assurance pre-mobilisation. Post-mobilisation, we have in-house OPITO accredited Competency Assessors and Trainers who are able to gather and assess evidence of Competency as it comes back into the offi ce.
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS WHAT ELSE IS INCLUDED? In addition to the Program itself we offer full use of our facilities in Dyce for Crew Meetings, pre-mob briefi ngs etc. Both our Training and Recruitment teams are located on the same site, located conveniently for all main heliports in Dyce. The facilities that can be offered for use are those of our Board/Meeting Room and our Training Classroom. These would be subject to availability but are generally available year-round with 4 hours notice. The use of these facilities would be Free of Charge. We also have a suite of computers available for use should any pre-mob inductions etc. need to be completed.
FACILITIES CLASSROOM Seats 16 Delegates, with Smartboard and Projector BOARD / MEETING ROOM Seats 1-0 Delegates, with 60 TV and Video Conferencing facilities
COMPETENCY ASSURANCE ADDITIONAL BENEFITS FOR FURTHER INFORMATION ON HOW THIS IS ACHIEVED AND TO DISCUSS FURTHER, PLEASE CONTACT: Steven Dunbar Managing Director Global Resources & Global TCC (Part of the Global Energy Group) Tel: +44 (0) Mob: +44 (0)
