1 COMPANY PROFILE ATLANTIC CHARTERS AND TOURS Living the dream With the dawning of a new political context in South Africa, Armien Salie was able to make the dream of owning his own business a reality. Armien comes from a family who have worked their whole lives in the bus transport industry. His father and grandfather before him were both bus drivers, his father being one of the first OMO (one man operators) Tollgate Holdings. At the age of 60 his father retired from Golden Arrow with 33 years of service and it was natural that Armien followed in his footsteps having a deep rooted passion for the industry. Armien became exposed to the bus transport industry at the tender age of 7 years having accompanied his father on tours around South Africa. At the age of 14 he was already a proficient Bus Driver and his passion fuelled his personal vision to start his own business. In 1994 he established Atlantic Shuttle Service cc t/a as Charters and Tours. From the onset, Armien was determined to make his business flourish and as any new small business, he faced many challenge but the beacon of a success kept him motivated through the difficult times. Today, employ 20 staff and he continues to strive towards the industry s best practice model, constantly taking his business to the next level. ARMIEN SALIE CEO of the broad based BEE company. We accomplish these high standards of quality performance through the active participation of our most valued resource our employees, and our innovative response to the changing needs of the transport sector. Transport Services With 6 luxury coaches, midi and mini busses, we are able to charter groups of any size. Our vehicles are compliant with all safety regulations and Atlantic Charters and Tours are confident with the knowledge that we carry the most comprehensive passenger liability insurance available. This is vitally important to ACT as we are contracted by several businesses, organizations and government departments to transport staff to work on a daily basis.

With ten SA regulatory compliant drivers, the Atlantic Team is able to take on any assignment no matter how big or small. Over and above this, the five service staff, play a pivotal role in ensuring that the fleet is effectively maintained and meet health and safety standards. Client Base Our client base comprises of a broad spectrum of businesses, both in the private and the public sector including local municipalities, government and community groups. Our customer retention strategy is simple reliable, high quality service at a competitive price. This approach has lead to maintain service contracts for as long as 14 years. To further grow our client base, we have embarked on strategic

4 partnerships with several other prestigious companies such as Elwierda, Future Coaches, Mega Coach, and Ikapa. We are ready to embrace these partnerships and to meet the high demand of the international visitors and the transport challenges for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. We are Serious about Service Contract Clients Our client base is extensive and our contract clients are very important to us as they provide stability within our organisation. Cape Peninsula University of Technology Department of Health Staff (Cape Town, Worcester, George and Villiersdorp) Carrier Marine Services HSE City of Cape Town Department of Health have also met the transport needs of TV & Film Production Companies, Conference and Event Coordinators and many other specialised industries. Skills Development and Our Corporate Social Investment Skills development is an ongoing process at Atlantic Charters and with special emphasis on upgrading our staff within this highly specialised transport field. Atlantic s Social Responsibility Programme does not support the concept of "cheque book charity". Instead, it focuses on forming meaningful partnerships with previously marginalised communities through capacity building and the transfer of skills, and is governed by the principle of self-help and sustainability. Framed by our commitment to give back to our community we have an ongoing arrangement with 4 key charities. Our approach is to focus on building these organisations though ongoing participation such as Boys Town, Hospice, NSRI and Animal Welfare.
