2 Directorate of Employment & Training (Govt. of Karnataka) Requires Technical / Administrative staff for Karnataka German Multi Skill Development Center (Registered under Societies Registration Act-1960) 1. Karnataka German Multi Skill Development Centres (KGMSDC) scheduled to launch at Bangalore and Gulbarga, are premier world class Training Institute of the Department of Employment and Training Government of Karnataka. The primary mission of the Training Centres is to conduct a broad based multidisciplinary programme in various Industrial Technical Fields, directed towards the development of skills and trades and to become a world class training centers that represents specialized trade training programs in alignment with the Industry requirements across the globe. The programmes at KGMSDC are at the cutting edge of frontier areas of industries and Manufacturing Plants. The Government of Karnataka has entered into Technical Collaboration with German Technical Collaboration with German Technology Collaboration wing GIZ, who are world leaders in providing technical support and consultancy in the areas of course design, implementation and running of the courses and quality assurance 2 The mission oriented program of KGMSDC offers challenging and complimentary roles for administrators, engineers and technicians. If you are a Postgraduate in Science/ Engineering or a Graduate in Science/ Engineering or a Diploma holder in Engineering or ITI qualified with experience with a passion for taking up challenging assignments to contribute to the efforts of the KGMSDC, we welcome you to apply and join the path of growth. 3. At present the positions available are Director / Deputy Director / Senior Manager / Engineer / Technicians. The job locations are based at Bangalore and Gulbarga. All positions carry attractive salary structure that is par with the Industry standards and components for HRA,CCA, EPF (employer contribution 12% of basic), conveyance allowance, suitable bonus and ESI. At the time of joining, Medical certificate of fitness from a Government Hospital or a recognised medical practitioner will be required. 5. Director KGMSDC(Bangalore&Gulbarga) -01 Post (i)the Director plays a critical role in the KGMSDCs. The Director is primarily responsible for the successful planning and implementation of Training Courses in the Training Centres both at Bangalore and Gulbarga. He will lead a team of qualified faculties in executing day-to-day operations and functions of KGMSDC. The Director will be stationed in Bangalore and Head the KGMSDC at Bangalore & Gulbarga. He should have a strong commitment to the project and is expected to have familiarity with Training Centres, vocational and technical training and passion for

3 human resource development. He must have an outstanding performance record, management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively and independently and must be results-oriented. ii) Qualification Masters Degree in any discipline of Engineering with consistent Academic Record. (a) Essential- 15 years experience in Educational Planning or Administration, Training etc. in Leading Industries or Central or State Government or University or other Institution of Higher Education or Autonomous Bodies or PSUs. Heads of Departments of Large / Medium Scale Industries with a flair for achievements in Education / Training / Human Resource Development are welcome to apply. (b) Desirable- Preference will be given to persons with proven record of achievements in industries and have experience at senior levels in production environment as well as training areas. (iv) Scale of Pay - Salary will be at par with Industry Standards so as to recognize and retain the best talent and is not a constraint for deserving candidates. The basic pay range is Rs 65500/- to Rs 85000/- with a gross of Rs 1,08,855/- at lower range of pay. (v) Upper age Limit- 58 years, as on 1st Aug, 2011 Leading the team of Senior Managers, Faculties, Administrative Staff and ensuring high-quality implementation of the Teaching and Learning processes as per course curriculum and quality standards and procedures. Building a cohesive team to ensure a successful Training Institute. Overseeing staff performance management, Students Training and Training Institute Functions and Operations Building and maintaining relationships with Government of India, Government of Karnataka and Industries. Ensuring the after training placements of trainees in Industries by maintaining close rapport with recruiters. Overseeing the daily operations of the Training Institute. Ensuring and monitoring the overall quality of the Training Institute. Keeping in constant communication with all Governing Council, Steering Committee and the Society (vii) Type of Contract The incumbent will be under Full-Time contract for period for two years initially but can be extended in blocks of 2 years at a time. Deputy Director 2 Posts (i)the Deputy Director will serve as the Curriculum Coordinator for KGMSDC. In addition, he will assist the Director in general program operations and Administration at Bangalore. The position of Dy. Director at Gulbarga is designated as the Head of KGMSDC Gulbarga and will be responsible for Director for successful implementation and running of project at Gulbarga. He will manage the training needs and overall functioning of KGMSDC Gulbarga. The candidate is expected to have

4 familiarity with Training Centres, outstanding performance record and management skills. He must have the ability to work collaboratively and independently and should be result-oriented. Master Degree in any of the subjects of Information Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Electrical / Environmental Engineering / Civil / Mechanical / Automobile from a recognized University or equivalent. (a) Essential- At least 12 years experience at managerial level out of which, at least five years of experience in training, teaching, educational planning or administration or production units in Industries or Central or State Government or University or other Institutions of Higher Education or Autonomous Bodies or PSU etc. (b) Desirable- Preference will be given to persons with proven record of achievements and have experience in production environment as well as training areas. (iv) Scale of Pay Salary will be at par with Industry Standards so as to recognize and retain the best talent and is not a constraint for deserving candidates. The basic pay range is Rs 45000/- to Rs 70000/- with a gross of Rs 75,030/- at lower range of pay. (v) Upper age Limit- 50 years, as on 1st Aug, 2011 The Deputy Director will be assisting the Director in leading the Training Institute and Communication activities of the institute. Take the lead role in ensuring that KGMSDC Gulbarga maintains high training standards and is run as per quality standards. Ensure Coordinated operations among the different departments and liaise with Govt departments as per requirements. Oversee development of training related aids, delivery of lectures on the training programmes and development of audio-visual training material Assist Director/Carryout the Administrative Duties as assigned by Director from time to time. Assist the Director / Carryout planning and implementation of recruitment strategies, Students Admissions, Advertisements in the media, student orientation, graduation ceremonies, and other special events of KGMSDC. Assist the Director / Carry out the after training placements of trainees in Industries by maintaining close rapport with recruiters. Faculty-Sr Manager/Manage -01 Position (i) A Senior Manager/Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, leading and supervising respective training department at KGMSDC. The Manager is the immediate person the team looks

5 up to. The ability to quickly grasp new ideas and concepts and incorporate them into institutes daily work activities is required. Talents in communicating with a wide range of employees at different levels of authority are necessary (a) Essential- A Master s Degree in any of the subjects of Information Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Electrical / Environmental Engineering / Civil / Mechanical / Automobile or equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade with 10 Years experience A Bachelor s Degree in any of the subjects of Information Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Electrical / Environmental Engineering / Civil / Mechanical / Automobile or equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade with 15 Years experience (a) Essential- At least 10 years experience post qualification out of which at least five years in a position of independent responsibility or Manager or in similar capacity in a Private Industry or public / private organization involved in vocational/technical training/technical education fields (b) Desirable- Preference will be given to the persons with proven track record of achievements in vocational/technical training/technical education fields (iv) Scale of Pay Salary will be at par with Industry Standards so as to recognize and retain the best talent and is not a constraint for deserving candidates. The basic pay range is Rs 30,000/- to Rs 45000/- with a gross of Rs 50,280/- at lower range of pay for Sr Manager position. For managers position basic pay range is Rs 28,000/- to Rs 34000/- with a gross of Rs 46,980/- at lower range of pay (v) Upper age Limit- 45 years, as on 1st July, 2011 Identify core competencies of workforce and conduct training as per quality standards. Identify the training needs of the work force under him and organize training. Design and develop training programs and update course curriculum to reflect the latest standards being followed in the Industry. Implement training programs Appraisal of training effectiveness Identify and implement career development for each employee Workforce competency appraisal Training Budget. Assist Director/Dy Director in organizing placements for the trainees by maintaining the close liaison with recruiters from the Industry. (vii) Type of Contract - The incumbent will be under Full-Time contract initially for two years and can be extended in block of two years. The candidate can be offered the position of Sr Manager or Manager depending of the organization needs and experience of the candidate.

6 Faculty-Sr Engineer/Engineer) - 04 Positions (i) The individual would be working closely with the Training Faculty and contribute significantly to the planning and execution of key training activities for the respective discipline/trade. He shall fall into the team of Core Faculties / Master Trainers. Besides the day-to-day operations like training, preparing training calendars, motivating students and trainers, the person will be expected to contribute significantly to planning and implementation of Quality Control processes. (a) Essential- B.E / B.Tech/MCA or equivalent in Information Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Electrical / Environmental Engineering / Civil / Mechanical / Automobile. (a) Essential- At least 3 years experience post qualification at an analogous position in any Industry or public / private limited organization based education institutions or in Industry as trainer. Qualification requirement may be lowered for highly experienced candidates from Industries or Manufacturing plants. (b) Desirable- Preference will be given to the candidates with Industry certifications and having undergone internationally recognized courses and having relevant proven track record of achievements in vocational/technical training/technical education fields/ production floors. (iv) Scale of Pay - Salary will be at par with Industry Standards so as to recognize and retain the best talent and is not a constraint for deserving candidates. The basic pay range is Rs 15,000/- to Rs 20,000/- with a gross of Rs 25,530/- at lower range of pay for Sr. Engineer position. For engineers position basic pay range is Rs 12,000/- to Rs 16000/- with a gross of Rs 20,580/- at lower range of pay (v) Upper age Limit- 35 years, as on 1st July, Upper age limit may be relaxed up to five for deserving candidates Lead a team of qualified and experienced while meeting training deliverables in terms of numbers, timelines and quality. Interfacing with the internal and external Industry and Corporates to identify training needs. Interacting with internal and external experts from industries to discuss best practices, ways and means to improvise trainings methodologies. Monitor training effectiveness through regular feedbacks and performance scores. Identify and scheduling resources for training Maintenance of training calendars of respective training departments (vii) Type of Contract The incumbent will be under Full-Time contract initially for two years and can be extended in block of two years. The candidate can be offered the position of Sr. Engineer/Engineer depending of the organization needs and experience of the candidate.

7 Faculty-Junior Engineer -08 Positions (i)the individual would be working as the Training Faculties and contribute significantly to the planning and execution of key training activities for the respective trade. Besides the day-to-day operations like training, preparing training calendars, motivating students and trainers, the person will be expected to impart quality training to students and achieve exemplary results on students term end evaluations. (a) Essential- Degree or equivalent in Information Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Electrical / Environmental Engineering / Civil / Mechanical / Automobile National Trade Certificate in the particular trade with three-year experience in the trade after obtaining the certificate. National Apprenticeship Certificate in the trade with one -year experience in the trade after obtaining the certificate. Diploma in the appropriate branch of Engineering from a Government or Government recognized polytechnic or its equivalent qualification. (b) Desirable- Preference will be given to the candidates with Industry certifications and undergone internationally recognized courses and having relevant proven track record of achievements in vocational/technical training/technical education fields/ production floors. (a) Essential- At least 2 years experience post qualification at an analogous position in any Industry or public / private limited organization based education institutions or in Industry as trainer. (b) Desirable- Preference will be given to highly experienced candidates from Industries or Manufacturing plants or Training or Educational Institutions. Professional certifications from accredited organizations like Cisco/Micro Soft/AWS etc will be given due weightage. (iv) Scale of Pay - Salary will be at par with Industry Standards so as to recognize and retain the best talent and is not a constraint for deserving candidates. The basic pay range is Rs 10,000/- to Rs 13,500/- with a gross of Rs 17,280/- at lower range of pay for Jr. Engineer position (v) Upper age Limit- 30 years, as on 1st July, Upper age limit may be relaxed by 5 yrs for deserving candidates Provides individual and group instruction by means of demonstrations, sketches, explanations and visual aids. Prepares lesson plans, determines instructional methods, and develops, administers and grades evaluations in theory and practice of a trade Creates and maintains records of students' attendance, progress, attitude and accomplishments Instructs students in the use of tools of the trade, the proper care and use of materials, and safety precautions

8 Instructs and evaluates students in such trade techniques as woodworking, machine shop, welding, automobile body repair, electronics and electrical repair, blueprint reading, construction and environmental technology Schedules classes to conform to requirements for trade certificates Assists student in the selection of training courses, in matters of industrial practices and rules, and counsels students on academic problems Monitors student behavior Maintains records and prepares reports and correspondence related to the work Performs related work as assigned (vii) Type of Contract The incumbent will be under Full-Time contract initially for two years and can be extended in block of two years. Technician Gr3/2/1-04 Positions (i)maintenance technicians will work independently and with other staff personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. They will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness in the Laboratories. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the Institution (a) Essential- National Trade Certificate in the particular trade with three-year experience in the trade after obtaining the certificate. National Apprenticeship Certificate in the trade with one-year experience in the trade after obtaining the certificate. An ITI Certificate in any Trade from recognized Government ITI. Diploma in the appropriate branch of Engineering from a Government or Government recognized polytechnic or its equivalent qualification Or A degree and Professional certification from accredited agencies like Cisco/Microsoft/AWS etc (b) Desirable- Preference will be given to the persons with good academics records and relevant experience in production floors/training Centers etc.. One year of relevant experience post qualification. However freshers with good academic record and aptitude will be considered. (iv) Scale of Pay Salary will be at par with Industry Standards so as to recognize and retain the best talent. The basic pay range is Rs 8,000/- to Rs 10,000/- with a gross of Rs 13,980/- at lower range of pay for Gr3 position. For Gr2 position, the basic pay range is Rs 6,500/- to Rs 8,000/- with a gross of Rs 11,505/- at lower range of pay. For Gr1 position, the basic pay range is Rs 5,700/- to Rs 7,000/- with a gross of Rs /- at lower range of pay (v) Upper age Limit- 30 years, as on 1st July, 2011

9 Maintain the uptime status of Lab equipments at all times. Maintain the stock of all assets in the Lab. Arrange for the repairs of electrical works, carpentry works, AC works for maintenance of centrally fitted accessories and equipments in the lab. Carry out periodic preventive maintenance activities on Lab Equipments to ensure satisfactory service. Assist in setting up laboratory experiments. Any other work assigned by the Head of Department from time to time. Maintain Training Labs Assist faculty in executing practical (viii) Type of Contract - The incumbent will be under Full-Time contract initially for two years and can be extended in block of two years. Senior/Business Development Executive/IC Trg & Placement Cell -01 Position (i) Business Development Executive/TPC is the face of the organisation to the external agencies and organisations. He is imparted responsibility for winning and securing business for the organization by making visits/calls to the prospective clients, pitching the business service, sending/seeking requisite information/proposal and follow up with persistence and dedication. He would also be involved in Developing and implementing sales strategy, market mapping and analytics of the market trends in training and skills requirements. The important facet of his responsibility is to organize placement for successful trainees by maintaining close liaison with recruiters and Industry. (a) Essential- A graduate with MBA / PGDBM or Equivalent (a) Essential- Must have Two Years of Experience as Business Development Executive in Training Field with exposure of Market. Should have experience in Direct Sales and Business Development leading to consistent sales performance. An exposure to placement activities and strong Industry links will be a definite advantage. (iv) Scale of Pay - Salary will be at par with Industry Standards so as to recognize and retain the best talent and is not a constraint for deserving candidates. The basic pay range is Rs 15,000/- to Rs 20,000/- with a gross of Rs 25,530/- at lower range of pay for Sr. Business Development Executive/IC TPC position. For Business Development Executive/Ic TPC position basic pay range is Rs 12,000/- to Rs 16000/- with a gross of Rs 20,580/- at lower range of pay. (v) Upper age Limit- 32 years, as on 1st July, 2011 Identify business targets and scanning/comprehending the market for business potential to secure business for the organization.

10 Formulating strategies for bringing in business and generating reports. Respond and seek clarifications from prospects on the RFPs to enable correct business proposal. Winning and securing business for the organization by making visits/calls to the prospective clients, pitching the business service, sending/seeking requisite information/proposal and follow up with persistence and dedication. Winning business through process of qualifying and developing relationships. Organize placements for the trainees from recruiters by organizing in campus or out campus placement drives. (vii) Type of Contract - - The incumbent will be under Full-Time contract initially for two years and can be extended in block of two years. Admin Assistant Gr3/2/1-02 Positions (i) The full time Administrative Assistant oversees and manages all office procedures and other tasks as assigned by the Director. The incumbent shall be overseeing general office activities, including the supervision of junior administrative staff. (a) Essential- Should have at least second class bachelor's degree from recognized University. Should have a speed of 80 w.p.m. in English shorthand and 40 w.p.m. in English Typewriting on manual / electronic typewriter and on computer with 40/35 w.p.m. respectively. (b) Desirable- Preference will be given to the persons with certificate courses on Ms Office and Excel etc. Essential- 2 years working experience in an office/educational institution. Must have working experience on MS Office suite and very well versed with excel software. (iv) Scale of Pay - Salary will be at par with Industry Standards so as to recognize and retain the best talent. The basic pay range is Rs 10,000/- to Rs 12,500/- with a gross of Rs 17,280/- at lower range of pay for Gr3 position. For Gr2 position, the basic pay range is Rs 9,000/- to Rs 12,000/- with a gross of Rs 15,360/- at lower range of pay. Accountant Gr3/2/1-02 Positions (i)the accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. (a) Essential- Bachelor s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance (a) Essential- 5+ years accounting / finance experience in similar positions in reputed public / private institutions and / or government organizations. Well versed with tally and other relevant software (iv) Scale of Pay Salary will be at par with Industry Standards so as to recognize and retain the best talent. The basic pay range is Rs 10,000/- to Rs 12,500/- with a gross of Rs 17,280/- at lower range of pay for Gr3 position. For Gr2 position, the basic pay range is Rs 9,000/- to Rs 12,000/- with a gross of Rs 15,360/- at lower range of pay. Financial and accounting audits from regulators from time to time Ensuring that capitalization of assets is in sync with institution policies, accounting principles. This will also involve ensuring the accuracy of information recorded in the Fixed Assets Register. Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis. Preparation of returns. Co-ordinate with the Director to ensure statutory compliances in any other area as required. Maintenance of accounts on a monthly basis. This requires co-ordination with external agencies such as IT, Provident fund etc (vii) Type of Contract - The incumbent will be under Full-Time contract initially for two years and can be extended in block of two years.

12 Front Office Executive -02 Positions (i) Front Office Executive(FOE) is first point of contact for prospective students employers and the Technical Departments of the center and plays very critical role in attracting students and enrolling them for various training programs of the Institute. For this the incumbent candidate to well versed with Tele marketing for informing and attracting the prospective Students and also well versed with front office procedures by using latest tools such as MS office/power Point etc. (i) Qualification and experience (a) Essential- MBA or PG Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Human Resource Practices. Bachelors Degree BBA/BCA etc in the above disciplines are acceptable in case of experienced and deserving candidates. (ii) Experience (a) Essential- 1 + years in positions such as PRO/Marketing in reputed public / private institutions and / or government organizations. Well versed with MS Office and other relevant software (iii) Scale of Pay Salary will be at par with Industry Standards so as to recognize and retain the best talent.
