5 7 When new ompanies move into an area, there are advantages and disadvantages. Read this artile about Swansea. Swansea had some run-down areas, so the government deided to set up an Enterprise Zone. This is where the government helps businesses to set up new offies and fatories in an area. They let the businesses off some taxes and train the loal people for free. Some of the new buildings were built on land that used to be polluted and overed in rubbish. The rest of the buildings were built on ountryside that wasn t spoilt before. 318 businesses moved into the area, and reated 3400 new jobs by In the 1990s, the government stopped giving help to these businesses and some moved out.
