The awards process has been continuously refined and honed to truly reflect aspects of current world-class manufacturing practices. ACMA Awards have a long history over 50 years. Excellence in Exports was the first Award instituted in year Thereafter Technology Award, Quality Awards & Productivity Awards were instituted. In the year 2002, Quality Awards and Productivity Awards were merged and one single award was instituted, viz. Excellence in Quality & Productivity Award. The Manufacturing Excellence Award was instituted in the year Mfg. Excellence Award is based on the Shingo Award Model instituted by Utah University, USA. As a step towards Greening ACMA Awards Online Management System was introduced from Thereafter, HR Excellence awards got instituted in 2015, followed by Supplier Development Award in 2016 & thereafter, Consistent Performing Company, Excellence in HSE (Health, Safety & Environment), Small Category Awards and Technology awards redesigned separately for Product & Process Innovation in This Year, we are introducing Excellence in Automation Award. From last year, to give more space for ACMA award winners, the ACMA Awards Presentation Ceremony - Celebrating Excellence is planned in December 2018 at Pune as a separate mega function. We are pleased to invite applications for the year under following categories as per the turnover criteria:

It aims at promoting export of value-added products. Criteria like net foreign exchange earned, consistency in export, penetration into new markets etc., are also given due weightage for analyzing a company s export performance. Thus the aim of the Export Award is to recognize the component manufacturer s actual export performance along with manufacturing capabilities. Excellence in Technology - Product Innovation ACMA Award for Excellence in Technology recognizes independent innovations in Product by member companies within their own fields of activity, which have, as a result, benefited their customers / Company themselves. The technology Award is given for outstanding innovations in product by member companies through their own efforts, which would benefit the Indian Automotive Industry as a whole. Excellence in Technology - Process Innovation

3 ACMA Award for Excellence in Technology recognizes independent innovations in Process by member companies within their own fields of activity, which have, as a result, benefited their Customers / Company themselves. The technology Award is given for outstanding innovations in process by member companies through their efforts, which would benefit the Indian Automotive Industry as a whole. Excellence in Quality and Productivity ACMA introduced this Award to recognize outstanding achievements by member companies in the area of Quality and Productivity. The award criteria focus on the foundation elements needed to build a Quality and Productivity culture in an organization. Recognition for Manufacturing Excellence This recognizes organizations that use Best Manufacturing Strategies and Practices to achieve high performance. It is based on the Shingo Prize Model that is currently administered by Utah University, USA. The Recognition for Manufacturing Excellence includes key elements of manufacturing starting with organization vision, leadership, strategy, support functions and employee involvement to achieve higher level of customer satisfaction and business performance. Excellence in HR award introduced with the following key objectives: Excellence in HR (Human Resource) Enhancing the Capability and HR Practices resulting in Performance Excellence and Customer Satisfaction Provide platform to Showcase the best HR Practices and get recognition This award will recognize organizations that design and implement the best HR Practices resulting in superior business performance and developing an engaged employee workforce. Excellence in Supplier Development In a value chain, a weak link decides the strength of entire chain. To assure Zero Defect quality at end customer it is necessary to operate from start to end. ACMA initiated a new category for Supplier Development to improve this link.

4 Build Zero Defect culture at supplier end Build good customer supplier relationship for your supplier Upgrade supplier capability Partnering with supplier Excellence in HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) ACMA Award for Excellence in Health, Safety & Environment recognizes efforts by member companies within their own fields of activity, which have resulted in creating a safe environment within their companies. The HSE Award is given for outstanding improvements by member companies through their efforts, which would benefit the Indian Automotive Industry as a whole. Consistent Performing Company The consistent Performing Company Award is given for outstanding performance by member companies through their efforts, which would benefit the Indian Automotive Industry as a whole. The award recognizes effort by member companies within their own fields of activity, which have, as a result, benefited their Customers, Employees, Society, Suppliers and Environment. Excellence in Automation The Excellence in Automation Award gives recognition to outstanding achievements in field of Manufacturing/ assembly lines Automation, which have resulted in multi fold productivity, quality improvements with large / complete reduction in employee fatigue with inbuilt flexibility and superior performance in manufacturing lead time reduction with appropriate ROI for automation. Development of in-house capability for automation along with proper deployment employees will have added advantages. Automation efforts with stakeholder s happiness which would benefit the Indian Automotive Industry as a whole can challenge this. Excellence in Automation / Business Growth / Digitization / Resource Optimization / Make In India Drive ACMA has introduced these Awards to recognize outstanding achievements by Small companies. The award is for efforts made by member companies within their own fields of activity, achieving higher level of performance in various areas as per award categories. 5 Company needs to apply for a particular plant under any award category, subject to fulfilling company group sales turnover criteria as per Table A & please refer notes. The applicant company should be a member of ACMA as on 30 th June The company group sales turnover of registered ACMA Member company, including all its registered plants will be considered for deciding if the applicant falls under Small, Medium, Large or Very-Large Category. 2. Past & Present ACT Cluster Companies / ACMA-UNIDO Cluster Companies are eligible for all applicable categories to apply for ACMA Awards without becoming ACMA Member 3. If a plant has won Gold trophy in the year or in any of the above categories, then that particular plant will not be eligible to apply in the same category. But they can apply for any other applicable categories. 4. Consistent Performing Company Award - Only winners from any Category during any of the last three years are eligible to apply as per turnover criteria (Ref Table A). C) The Award / Benefits to Award Applicants a) Applicable to all Award categories - One complimentary delegate for each submitted application for ACMA Awards Presentation Ceremony - Celebrating Excellence in December 2018 at Pune for 2 days. b) Small Category If same company / plant applies for 3 or more than 3 categories then 50% discount will be offered on site diagnosis fee for shortlisted applications. c) Winners will be awarded with a Trophy / Certificate of Appreciation during the ACMA Awards Ceremony - Celebrating Excellence 2018 where we expect over 1400 delegates from the vehicle industry, component industry, engineering industry, machine tools industry, academia and government along with other stakeholders. d) All ACMA award Winner s synopsis will be published in IMPACT magazine (Circulation to 815+ ACMA members, OEMs in India). Applicants are advised to go through the ppt applications carefully as it has been revised. Kindly note offline applications in ppt format are not accepted. Only Applications filled & submitted online through ACMA Awards Online Management System will be accepted. Login to ACMA Awards Online Management System will be available from 15 th May 2018 onwards.
