The business has been transformed through the years, with rigging as the main focus for the past 60 years or so. The company has now grown to be one of the largest wire rope and rigging suppliers in the world. KTL Offshore were listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange on 14 December 2007 under the holding company name of KTL Global Ltd. They are located in Singapore and occupy 28,000 square meters of land. It is a huge facility - one of the largest wire rope, rigging and mooring facilities in the world. Offices are also located in the UAE, Australia, Batam (Indonesia) and Vietnam. MISSION To provide premium quality wire rope, rigging equipment and technical services to the offshore oil and gas and related industries. All activity will be conducted in a way that both retains and enhances our reputation as a market leader and quality supplier. At KTL Offshore there is a workforce of almost 200 people who work together to drive the business forward, and who enable the position as a market leader to be maintained. Staff are invested in to ensure that they are equipped with the skills and knowledge they require to conduct their roles to the best of their ability and in a manner that is consistent with the KTLO philosophy and culture. The Largest Dedicated Wire Rope, Rigging and Engineering Facility in the Middle East KTL Offshore have established the largest dedicated rigging facility in the Middle East within the Hamriyah Free Zone in the UAE. The facility encompasses a total area of 10,000 square meters which includes a completely paved outside storage/work area, a covered rigging production area and a covered warehouse. The HFZ facility is the most sophisticated in the region, and has been purpose built to target the heavy lift and offshore construction industries in the ME's booming Oil & Gas market. The KimTest 1000 test bed has a pull capacity of 1,000 metric tons and an eventual test length of 100 meters, making this the largest and longest calibrated testing facility for the huge heavy lift slings in the Middle East. The facility also has the capability to manufacture up to 20 (508mm) diameter 'KimFlex' wire rope slings with a strength of 8,611 metric tons. This facility has the ability to manufacture the largest slings in the region. KTLO (ME) offer a wide range of Specialized Technical Services - Spooling, Installation, Inspection and Certification of wire rope are just some of these. This Facility is unique in that it is dedicated solely to wire rope and rigging and not to the general ship chandling/supply market. PRODUCTS KTL Offshore's strength is in Steel Wire Rope. A large inventory of premium brands of wire rope such as Redaelli, Usha Martin, Kiswire and DSR is maintained.

All rope is made to the ANSI/API 9A(2004) and ISO10425 (2003) combined specification for wire rope for offshore applications.

KTL Offshore offer a wide range of Slings and Grommets to accommodate all heavy lift requirements. All items are manufactured to a strict quality control procedure to ensure consistency.

PRODUCTS KTL Offshore's strength is in Steel Wire Rope. A large inventory of premium brands of wire rope such as Redaelli, Usha Martin, Kiswire and DSR is maintained. Wire rope can be ordered and cut to suit customer's specific needs and can be fitted with the termination required - sockets, thimbles or soft eyes. All rope is made to the ANSI/API 9A(2004) and ISO10425 (2003) combined specification for wire rope for offshore applications. All wire rope is supplied with the manufacturer's mill and third party certification such as ABS or Lloyd's Register. KTL Offshore offer a wide range of Slings and Grommets to accommodate all heavy lift requirements. All items are manufactured to a strict quality control procedure to ensure consistency. Each sling or grommet is proof-tested at our facility and certified by ABS, DNV or Lloyd's Register. Length tolerance is always well within the tolerances specified by the international standards, and all cable laid slings and grommets adhere to IMCA M179 or BSEN The 'Kim' product range of slings and grommets include: Cable Laid Slings and Grommets KimFlex Braided Slings and Grommets KimLock Slings KTL Offshore Middle East offer a wide range of Rigging Equipment including shackles, snatch blocks, sockets, and other items that are required for wire rope and lifting equipment. As the largest Crosby distributor outside of the USA, a large inventory is maintained onsite. Mooring Equipment is also a key focus for KTL. HPE anchors are manufactured in China (up to 25t) and these are project managed and certified from Singapore. The following equipment is readily available: Buoys (anchor buoys, marker buoys, spring buoys, pennant buoys and mooring buoys), Anchor Chain, Pig Tails, Sockets, Wire Rope, Swivels, Connecting Links and Pennant Lines. High Performance Synthetic Rope is now replacing wire rope in many applications. KTL Offshore have an exclusive agreement with Cortland Puget Sound Rope (from the USA) covering South East Asia and the Middle East for the development of synthetic heavy lifting solutions using Plasma ropes. Plasma rope has the highest strength-to-mass-ratio of any rope available. It's 12 or 12x12 strand construction offers the equivalent strength to a wire rope of the same size. Elongation is similar to wire rope. The patented 12x12 construction is easily repaired in the field by replacing any damaged strands, and the Plasma rope is probably the easiest rope to splice on-site. A Polyurethane coating increases abrasion resistance while the rope is UV stabilized and creep properties are negligible at working loads. Plasma is made from Honeywell's Spectra fiber and heat treated using PSR's recrystallisation process. As well as high performance synthetic rope, PolyPropylene (PP), Nylon and Composite synthetic ropes are also available. Slings and Grommets can be fabricated by KTL Offshore from any of these rope types, depending which is most suitable for the application being considered. KTL OFFSHORE TECHNICAL SERVICES Wire Rope Spooling & Installation KTL Offshore Operates A Fleet Of Ultra Modern Wire Rope Spooling Machines. The KimSpool machines are hydraulically controlled, and the back tension is attained without the use of sheaves or other potentially harmful tensioning devices. The machines are available to cater for specific applications, and the number of machines available allows great flexibility when scheduling jobs. The Technical Services department are very experienced in the spooling of wire rope, and also in the installation and removal of crane wire, tow wire and anchor wire. They are also very experienced in the installation and extraction of umbilical cables which require a high level of expertise and the best equipment in order to ensure the job is completed properly. The spooling machines are available for extended periods of hire, and are able to be shipped out to any location Worldwide.

Wire Rope Inspection, Testing And Certification The complete lifecycle of slings and other types of rigging equipment are catered for by KTL Offshore's Technical Services team.

It has been demonstrated that a process of regular inspection and maintenance greatly enhances the lifespan of equipment and as a result, costs are reduced.

The fleet of spoolers can accommodate reel weights from 25 tons to a massive 250 tons. Wire Rope Inspection, Testing And Certification The complete lifecycle of slings and other types of rigging equipment are catered for by KTL Offshore's Technical Services team. These services can be offered in-house, offshore or at a global level depending on the customer's requirements. It has been demonstrated that a process of regular inspection and maintenance greatly enhances the lifespan of equipment and as a result, costs are reduced. Trained to recognize physical and mechanical wear in its early stages, inspectors will highlight any areas requiring attention. KTL Offshore have one of the largest tensile testing facilities in the industry - our 3 main locations have DNV calibrated Test Beds for the testing of rigging equipment. These Test Beds are computer controlled and capable of proof load testing the largest and longest slings and grommets. The Inspection, Testing and Certification (ITC) program for large diameter slings and grommets includes a: Visual inspection report from a qualified inspector Proof load (to customer specification) test report ABS or other third party test report Recommendation for discard or continued service based on latest international standards such as IMCA M179 Inspectors are also qualified in non-destructive testing such as magnetic particle inspection and magnetic rope testing. All testing machines are calibrated Qualified inspectors from 3rd party institutions are brought in as required Non-destructive testing is done on site Certified test reports provided by ABS, DNV or LR 3rd party witness certification can be provided Wire Rope Lubrication KTL Offshore use the most advanced high pressure system on the market, in combination with the best lubricants. Crosby's Vitalife 400 is specifically designed for pressure applications, and for use in an offshore environment. Vitalife 400 behaves more like an oil than a grease so ensures maximum penetration to the core of the rope. The pressure lubrication system uses air pressure to force out any water present within the rope construction, and then forces the lubrication into the rope. This pressure lubrication system is designed to accommodate a wire rope with a diameter of up to 5 (127mm). There are also other lubricants available. Kimtrack Inventory Management System KTL Offshore will store and maintain your spare wire rope (and any other rigging equipment) for you at their facility. Customer-owned material is entered on their KimTrack webbased management system. A user-specific name and password is provided to your organisation, whereby you can gain access to the KimTrack system via our website. The KimTrack system enables customers to: View all outstanding production orders with ETA dates Access and download test certification for individual items in storage View the relevant data for all items under the management system This tool provides the operator-no matter where they are in the World with vital, real-time information. OTHER TECHNICAL SERVICES A team of qualified inspectors and riggers can be mobilized at very short notice to virtually any offshore location. All inspectors are qualified by international training organizations for rigging equipment, as well as being certified to work offshore.
