3 Introduction of the TISAR objectives TISAR project is co-financed under the European Programme ADRIATIC IPA CBC Priority 3.2 Sustainable mobility systems. TISAR faces the lack of a multimodal travel planning system in the Adriatic area. Such topic is very relevant in the Adriatic macro-region since mobility difficulties in the use of public transport are increased by the lack of information available in the area and the great lack of integration and interaction between the systems. TISAR aims at defining policies in support of multimodal passenger mobility within the Adriatic macro-region, mainly by sharing information on the availability of public transport (local, long-hauls, multimodal transport) and its integration on a single platform for travel planning and information portals already existing on the territory.

4 Introduction of the TISAR objectives The TISAR specific objectives are: 1. Institutional round table (WP4) aiming at the definition of policies in support of multimodal passenger mobility within the Adriatic macro-region, mainly by sharing information on the availability of public transport and its integration on a single platform 2. A technical-operational worktable (WP5) for thorough analysis, design and implementation of a single portal to manage information (Traveller Information System) which will be multimodal and multi-channel within the Adriatic macro-region 3. Final objective is the implementation of an ICT platform where public transport and journey planning data will be merged and made available in the languages of the IPA Countries.

Institutional objective The institutional table (Work Package 4) included in TISAR project will report the European political discussion to the Adriatic region, adapting it to the contest in the macro-region with its wide variety of languages and characters, transport modes. The worktable will focus on different aspects, among which: Local and macro-regional objectives compared with EU-set objectives (Directives, ITS Action Plan, White Paper, Objective 2020); Role of institutions and public administrations on sharing public transport data (timetables, geo-localization of interchange nodes/bus stops shared by operators/transport modes); Sharing best practices on information systems, with focus on multimodal, multioperator systems; Collection of information on local journey planning systems; Discussion with the technical worktable on interoperability of existing systems and integration techniques (WP3); Involvement of various stakeholders: passenger transport operators, managing bodies of local travel planning, users, other PAs

Technical objective The technical table will be based on the experience of the technological partners who have been working for years on interoperability, routing optimization, semantics, combination of travel solutions based on European standards and on research carried out at international level. The technical-operational worktable (Work Package 5) will produce a thorough analysis, design and implementation of a single portal to manage information (Traveller Information System), which will be multimodal and multi-channel within the Adriatic macroregion: Technical analysis on the state of the art of local travel planning systems; Assessment of interoperability and definition of guidelines for system integration based on European standards; Realization of a technical feasibility study and executive project; Implementation of the platform for integration of travel planners, including multimodal search functions for travel solutions within the Adriatic macro-region; Discussion with the worktable of public administrations for the management of issues linked to integration.

7 Introduction of the TISAR objectives 3. Exchange of information INSTITUTIONAL TECHNICAL The two tables will exchange useful information for mutual work. The objective of the project will be the creation of guidelines on how to realize a platform, as well as the implementation of an ICT platform in the Adriatic area. The guidelines will be disseminated within the macro-region and, where possible, discussed at a wider level with a participation to events also outside the involved area

9 Introduction of the TISAR objectives Traveler Information Systems and Services (WP3) State of the art Partner responsible: FB5 - Voluntary Consortium of Municipalities for the realization of a Local Action Plan (Apulia Region - IT) FB5 produced a template that has been distributed to all partners in order to gather information about the State of the Art of «Mobility» (available Travel Planners, Hubs, etc.). The gathered data will be used to produce a document of analysis of the Adriatic macro-region. The study deriving from such collection is strictly linked to and preparatory for WP5 tasks. Deadline: 14 th June 2013 Design and Development of the ICT Platform(WP5) State of the art Partner responsible: FB1 Pluservice srl. (IT) FB1 produced a template that has been distributed to all partners as well, in order to gather information about available transport data of travel planners and to assess the state of the art in each region. Required adjustments will be performed according to each situation of each beneficiary mainly integrations, interfacing and implementation. Such work will lead to the definition of a final architecture. Deadline: 14 th 30 th June 2013

10 Implementation of a multi-modal cross-border traveller information for the Adriatic macro-region The aim of the project is the implementation of an ICT platform where public transport and journey planning data will be merged and made available in the languages of the IPA Countries. The TISAR platform will give information on available public transport solutions combined in a seamless multimodal journey planning. Have in a single portal all information to plan door-to-door journey within the area by using a combination of public/private transport. Increase information available for the users, etc. Promote territory and cross-border tourism
