2 Greetings Powerful and Amazing Business Woman! All too often I see business women with amazing business ideas, products and services yet they are not meeting their revenue goals on a consistent basis. After more than seven years working intimately with Christian Women-owned businesses, I have come to realize that a lack of consistent marketing is often the culprit. Most women are great promoters, but lousy marketers. There is a vast difference between promotions and marketing that is often misunderstood, and therefore are too many businesses never actually get to the core marketing activities that make their business not only sustainable but profitable (having more than enough left over after all the needs and expenses have been met). Promoting is the act of sharing information with a general audience for the result of increased awareness. When you promote, you are sharing that you have products and/or services available to just about anyone who stands still long enough to listen. Promotions are all about exposure. Marketing is a whole different thing. Marketing is the intentional act of sharing your products and/or services with a pre-qualified and highly targeted audience who has demonstrated that they are interested in and have a need for what you are offering for the result of increased sales. Marketing is all about moving more of your products and/or services into the marketplace. It s time to take the marketing to a higher level in your business. And it doesn t have to be expensive or cumbersome. When you find the marketing avenues that work best for you and the personality and culture of your business, it can be a blast! Marketing is the difference between a business that is just getting by and a business that is flourishing. It is my desire and the desire of The International Alliance of Christian Business Women (IACBW) to see your business flourish and thrive so you have the time and resources to impact more and more lives. 2
