3 WHAT THEY RE The first annual PVD Fest was an unprecedented coming together of the people, businesses & cultural organizations of our city in celebration of its vibrance and creativity. It was a reminder of how in-tune every facet of Providence is with its heartbeat - The Arts. And at the center of that heartbeat are the many individuals who create and foster it. The Dean Hotel is lucky to be part of the beginning of a new tradition that is The PVD Fest. We are the Creative Capital and this festival is an opportunity to celebrate the arts and cultural scene here in Providence. My vision for this festival is for it to grow into a phenomenon and become an international attraction for artists and visitors alike. Building on the success of last year s festival, I hope that we will continue to attract talent both nationally and internationally while turning the entire city into a stage for all to enjoy. It was wonderful to see Washington Street brought to life in such a dynamic way and to be able to interact with so many people either visiting for the first time, or lifelong residents with renewed excitement for the city.
