It explains in detail all the applicable design requirements fr each level f designatin. All related dcuments fllw the same layut and frmat. The three levels f FORTIFIED Cmmercial High Wind & Hail are designated as Brnze, Silver and Gld. FORTIFIED Cmmercial High Wind & Hail Prject Design Frm and Cmpliance Checklist New Cnstructin The Prject Design Frm and Cmpliance Checklist is t be filled ut by the prject architect and a licensed structural engineer. It is t be cmpleted during the design develpment phase f the prject and is intended t help the design team verify they have included the requirements apprpriate fr the selected FORTIFIED designatin level. This is t be submitted t the prspective FORTIFIED Evaluatr fr apprval befre cnstructin dcuments are prepared. Manufacturer apprved starter strips at eaves shall be set in a minimum 8 in. wide strip f cmpatible flashing cement. Maximum thickness f flashing cement shall be ⅛ in. Fasten starter strips parallel t the eaves alng a line abve the eave line per the manufacturers specificatins. Fasteners shall be psitined t ensure they will nt be expsed under the cututs in the first curse. Starter strips and shingles shall nt exceed mre than ¼ in. beynd the drip edge. Shingle manufacturer apprves ASTM D1970 fully adhered starter strip with asphaltic adhesive shall be installed at the eave s that the starter strip adheres t and cvers the drip edge tp surface. Installatin f shingles at rakes (ptin 1) shall be placed in a minimum f 8 in. wide strip f cmpatible flashing cement. Maximum thickness f flashing cement shall be ⅛ in. The shingles shall be fastened per the manufacturer specificatins at the rakes. Installatin f shingles at rakes (ptin 2) shall be placed in a minimum f 8 in. wide strip f cmpatible flashing cement. Maximum thickness f flashing cement shall be ⅛ in. The shingles shall be fastened per the manufacturer specificatins at the rakes. Fasten starter strips parallel t the rakes per the manufacturer s specificatins. Fasteners shall be psitined t insure they will nt be expsed. Starter strips and shingles shall nt extend mre than ¼ in. beynd the drip edge. Installatin f shingles at intersectins and bth sides f pen valleys shall be set in a minimum 8 in. wide strip f flashing cement. Maximum thickness f flashing cement shall be ⅛ in. Cut side f clsed valleys shall be set in a minimum 2 in. wide, ⅛ in. thick strip f flashing cement. Wven valleys shall be installed accrding t the manufactures specificatins. 24

Over the self adhering tape, the rf surface shall be cvered with a cde cmpliant ASTM D226 Type II r apprved equal anchr sheet.
