1 New Prduct Apprval Prcess 1. Scpe T prvide an assessment f the suitability f a new prduct fr prcurement and use by Manitba Infrastructure (MI). Manitba Infrastructure may require updates, resubmissin f this frm, r further testing t maintain status f prducts. 2. Purpse T establish a due diligence evaluatin f prducts that are vendr prmted r MI slicited. 3. Assessment Criteria The criteria will address the Manitba s Sustainable Develpment Prcurement Guidelines as fllws: 1. Prtecting Human Health and Well-Being 2. Prmting Envirnmentally Sustainable Ecnmic Develpment 3. Cnserving Resurces 4. Cnserving Energy 5. Prmting Pllutin Preventin, Waste Reductin and Diversin 6. Evaluating Value, Perfrmance and Need In additin, the supplier shall cmply with all Acts, statutes, bylaws, regulatins r rdinances f the Lcal, Prvincial r Federal Authrities pertaining t the prduct. 4. Submissin A cmpleted Prduct Submissin Frm must accmpany all new prduct submissins. Applicants must prvide the requested infrmatin. Incmplete applicatins will be returned. A separate frm must be cmpleted fr each new prduct submitted. MI may request additinal infrmatin t cmplete the assessment. 5. Assessment Prcess MI will evaluate the applicatin fr ptential acceptance f the prduct fr use n Department prjects. If the applicatin is deemed acceptable, the prduct will be classified in ne f tw categries: Apprved Prducts and Available Prducts. Apprved Prduct Prducts recgnized t be acceptable and may be used n MI prjects prvided that the prducts meet the Cnstructin Specificatins and/r Wrk. Prducts will be listed n the MI Apprved Prducts List. Available Prduct Prducts that have been reviewed and appear t meet standard specificatins but have nt yet been used n MI prjects. Prducts will be placed n the internal MI Prduct Availability List. Use f prducts n this list is at the discretin f the Department and requires prir written apprval by the Department.

2 The manufacturer/supplier may be cntacted t supply the prduct and any special equipment needed t install the prduct at a MI test site. All prduct samples submitted t MI fr evaluatin shall becme the prperty f MI and will nt be returned unless therwise agreed t prir t evaluatin. The manufacturer/supplier will be encuraged t versee trial installatins f the prduct. Prducts that are rejected may nt be resubmitted until a 2-year mratrium perid has elapsed. If the prduct/system is cnsidered prprietary, submissin f additinal infrmatin will be required. This includes submissin f all design ntes and calculatins fr MI review; as well as reprts n full scale test prgrams cnducted and prduct repair prcedures. MI reserves the right t accept r reject any submissin. 6.
