5 5 SECTION 3 EXECUTION Specifier Nte: Article belw is an additin t the CSI Sectin Frmat and a supplement t MANU-SPEC. Revise article belw t suit prject requirements and specifier s practice. 3.1 MANUFACTURER S INSTRUCTIONS Cmply with the instructins and recmmendatins f the veneer precast stne manufacturer stated in ICC-ES Reprt # ESR EXAMINATION Site Verificatin f Cnditins: Verify that site cnditins are acceptable fr installatin f veneer precast stne. D nt prceed with installatin f veneer precast stne until unacceptable cnditins are crrected. Specifier Nte: Crdinate article belw with manufacturer s recmmended installatin details and requirements. 3.3 INSTALLATION Applicatin t Wd Substrate: Cver structurally sund wd substrate (plywd r ther sheathing ver framing members) with 2 layers f Grade D building paper. Apply 3.4 lb/yd2 (1.8 k/m2) self-furring metal lath r #17 gauge, 1 1/2" (38 mm) wven-wire stucc mesh t wd studs spaced 16" (406 mm) n center. Nails must be spaced 6" (152 mm) n center n the studs and must be f sufficient length t penetrate the studs a minimum f 1" (25.4 mm). Apply 1/2" (12.7 mm) thick scratch cat f Type S mrtar r equivalent and allw t cure at least 48 hurs befre the mrtar bed is applied. Misten scratch cat immediately befre installing stne. Apply 3/4" (19.1 mm) thick Type S mrtar r equivalent t the back f each Harristne and press the stne int place n the scratch cat. The mrtar bed cnsistency must allw mrtar t be squeezed ut arund all edges f the veneer unit t ensure full bnd. Apply Type S mrtar r equivalent int jints between stnes, then [Brush] [Tl] [Rake] jints. Applicatin t Masnry Substrate: On clean, unfinished masnry surfaces, Harristne Veneer may be applied directly withut mesh. Clean and sand blast existing painted r waterprfed masnry surfaces t prvide adequate bnd. Apply minimum 1/2" (12.7 mm) thick setting bed f Type S mrtar r equivalent t the back f each Harristne cmpnent and press the stne int place n the masnry surface. Allw t set. Apply Type S mrtar r equivalent int jints between stnes, then [Brush] [Tl] [Rake] jints.
