1 The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) is an independent, statutory company registered in terms of the Companies Act. The South African government, represented by the Minister of Transport, is the sole shareholder and owner of SANRAL. The Agency has a distinct mandate to finance, improve, manage and maintain the national road network (the economic arteries of South Africa) and is committed to carrying out its mandate by protecting and preserving the environment through context-sensitive solutions. The South African national road network consists of km of roads. This network seamlessly connects major cities, towns and rural areas, supporting economic growth and social development and immensely contributing to job creation in the country. SANRAL adds value to all the developmental initiatives in the fields of transport, education, health, and development of communities. 2 ROLE SPECIFICATION Accounts Payable Accountant Position: Accounts Payable Accountant Region: SANRAL - Head Office Pretoria, Gauteng Employment: Permanent INTERNAL/EXTERNAL ADVERT TO SANRAL Staff REPORTS TO Accounts Payable Supervisor DATE 09 April 2018 GRADE C SALARY Market-related OFFICE Head Office Val de Grace, Pretoria, Gauteng POSITION OBJECTIVE: Provides financial, administrative and clerical support by ensuring payments are completed and expenses are controlled by receiving payments, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely and accurate manner. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS: Relevant National Diploma >3 years accounts payable experience SAP Microsoft office The ability to demonstrate attention to detail, solve problems in a timely manner, good interpersonal skills and to work well under pressure. 2

3 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Purchase orders, invoices, payments, vendor statements Payment of external and international Creditors. Obtain relevant signatures on invoices Monthly preparation of vendor reconciliations Check terms of payment on SAP Input invoice onto SAP For foreign payments, ensure payment of invoice with correct exchange rate. Ensure authorisation for payment of invoices Ensure correct payment amount on invoice Ensure accurate and timeous processing and payment of invoices on accounts payable system on SAP Ensure that amount due to vendors is paid, when it is due and address any deviations Payment proposals relationship management and cash flow management Ensure assistance with cash flow planning by providing cash department with cash outflow information/forecast based on existing invoices/proposal Reconciliations Adherence to policy and procedure and ensure accurate and timeous application Ensure that creditor statements reconcile with the accounts payable system SCM compliance Ensure that invoices and purchase orders comply are accompanied by approved SCM memos Audit liaison Assist with internal and external audits queries Adhoc Assist with Adhoc duties where required 3
