2 Job title: Salary Hours Location: Industry Support Coordinator c 20k dependent on experience 37.5 per week (job share or part time working requests will be considered) Birmingham or oncaster with occcasional travel between sites/ to other locations The location, hours of work and duties could be varied according to the needs of the service. Interviews in Birmingham will take place on Wednesday 21 st February 2018 Interviews in oncaster will take place on Tuesday 27 th February Context The National College for High Speed Rail is a brand new incorporated F College that is being established to train the next generation of the rail workforce. Covering the breadth of the rail industry from design to people experience, construction, maintenance and operations, the College will train learners from the age of 18 in Higher Apprenticeships and higher education programmes. Learners who have attended the National College will gain skills that enable UK employers to support the development and running of HS2 and future high speed rail projects at home and around the world. The college s vision is to pioneer technical excellence, setting new standards for collaboration and diversity in what will be a major growth industry for the UK in future years. We opened to students in September 2017, with two main hub sites in Birmingham and oncaster and a network of spokes via partner arrangements across the UK. Job purpose The purpose of this job is to coordinate and support industry subject matter experts, guest lecturers and industrial/ educational visits. The post holder will be responsible for the coordination and administration of a range of learning and development activities and projects as directed by the curriculum team as well as ensuring the development and maintenance of robust learning and development systems and processes. The post 2
3 holder will also deal with incoming queries whilst offering a high level of customer service and produce timely and accurate reports or data as required supporting the learner delivery strategy. 3. Reporting relationships Reports to Head of ducation, Training & Performance 4. Accountabilities To coordinate and support industry subject matter experts, guest lecturers and industrial/educational visits/ accommodation & travel. To develop and maintain accurate and easily accessible records and processes for all learning and development activities and processes including recording and monitoring attendance, ensuring that staff required to attend specific lessons/ workshops are easily identified and followed up. To establish systems and procedures to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the service offering. To provide administration support for the curriculum team including arranging meetings and material preparations. To ensure the monitoring and evaluations of all projects is on track and up to date. To provide administrative support for learner recruitment, examinations and assessment activities. To process enquiries from external providers into the CRM To compose and type regular correspondence, such as invitations and informative material. To monitor responses to action reports ensuring all requested actions are completed. To have involvement as required in the administration /organisation of college events. To provide support for staff and learners on the use of the virtual learning environment To ensure that staff work in accordance with good health and safety practices. 5. Other 3
