6 Statistical Methodology Survey Procedures: Grower surveys are conducted in the three estimating s to collect acreage, yield, production data from growers. Additionally, contacts are made with each of the three Hop Commissions. Estimating Procedures: Information obtained from the hops growers surveys are used to establish estimates of hops. These estimates are reviewed for errors, reasonableness, consistency with historical estimates industry check data. Revision Policy: All hop estimates are subject to revision the following year based on a thorough review of all available data. Reliability: Survey results are subject to non-sampling errors such as omission, duplication, imputation for missing data, mistakes in reporting, recording, processing the data. These errors cannot be measured directly, but are minimized through rigid quality controls in the data collection process a careful review of all reported data for consistency reasonableness.
