2 Mushroom production At present the unit is having 4 cropping rooms of size 30 x 20 x 12 with 2/3 tiered structure for cultivation of paddy straw mushroom with a capacity of handling six quintals of straw/ day under conventional method of cultivation. The average biological efficiency of paddy straw mushroom is about 12% as realized by the entrepreneur. Besides, she cultivates Pleurotus sajor-caju and P. florida in the winter season (November to February) with a modest bio-efficiency of 80%. Table 1. 3 Mushroom spawn production She produces mushroom spawn (500 bottle of 200 g capacity/day) in a well equipped spawn laboratory besides maintaining pure cultures of the tropical mushrooms for her own purposes. The spawn thus produced is marketed across Odisha and neighboring Chhattisgarh state.
4 Mushroom processing and preservation Preparing, packaging and marketing value added mushroom products such as mushroom pickles, nuggets, papad and dehydrated mushroom powder. Running and managing three cafeteria in the name of MUSHROOM PLAZA in four district head-quarters of Western Odisha to habituate people on taking mushroom and mushroom recipe in form of mushroom soup, chilli mushroom, mushroom pakoda, mushroom masala etc.
5 Promotional Activities The unit has formed 120 Nos of SHGs and five producers group with the support of DSMS, Bargarh and introducing them in various agro-based income generation activities like mushroom, vermin-compost, apiculture, backyard poultry and food preservation. Under the support of NHM and Director, Horticulture, Bhubaneswar the unit has established 50 seated residential mushroom training centre in her farm for extending the mushroom farming and enhancing the mushroom production in the locality.

7 Additional Activities Producing high quality vermin-compost out of the waste obtained from mushroom cultivation. Imparting training to individual farmers, Farmer Interest Groups, SHGs, NGOs, CBOs and public sectors. Preparing, packaging and marketing value added mushroom products such as mushroom pickles, nuggets, papad and dehydrated mushroom powder. Running and managing three cafeteria in the name of MUSHROOM PLAZA in four district head-quarters of Western Odisha to habituate people on taking mushroom and mushroom recipe in form of mushroom soup, chilli mushroom, mushroom pakoda, mushroom masala etc. Running and maintaining vermin hatchery of Easina foatida and Eudrilus eugina species in order to cater to the needs of the local farmers throughout the year.
8 Awards The India s best model farmer (selected by APICOL, Odisha and Ministry of Agriculture, Govt.o f India) to receive the most prestigious award (FAO-RAP 2009) of agriculture sector by Her Royal Princess Mahachakri Srindhorn on the occasion of World Food Day on 16 th October, 2009 at Bangkok, Thailand. Krushi O Krushak Sammana Award received from Sj. Naveen Pattanaik Hon ble Chief Minister of Orissa, Best Farmer award received by Sj. Golak Bihari Dhala, Minister of Fishries and Animal Resource, Govt of Odisha. Out Standing Performance award in Agriculture, Horticulture and Home Science from RRTTS, Chiplima, 2002 Sj. B.K. Rath, Chairman, APICOL with Director Agriculture, Horticulture and APC felicitated on 22 nd Jan Anupama Award 2010 received from Smt. Deepa Chandra, Dy. Director, DDK, New Delhi at Doordarshan Kendra, Bhubaneswar on World Womens Day.
