Integrated with the IBM FileNet P8 platform, and as a freestanding product, it empowers you to accelerate your time-to-value from your Enterprise Content Management (ECM) investments and, through automation, saves your employees valuable time. Assigning categories, like folders or document classes, in an automated manner helps ECM system-based applications bring more content and categorized more accurately. The system provides easy-to-use GUI tools to invoke automated classification as well as review and audit the automatic actions of the system. The act of reviewing in turn provides feedback to the system, facilitating real-time improvement of the classifications. The is a part of the IBM ECM portfolio and primarily targeted for use by IBM ECM customers. The previous version of the product (V8.3) was named for OmniFind Discovery Edition. As part of the IBM ECM architecture, the classification module saves time, gets more content under management faster, and accelerates the return on your investment in ECM. Value of classification Analysts estimate that the volume of "unstructured" content , presentations, contracts, forms, for example will virtually double annually. Faced with this explosion of content, a reliable method for organizing it becomes critical. By investing in an enterprise content management platform, you are committing to cataloguing and classifying your organization's content, whether you are encouraging content reuse, establishing records management practices, or improving a business process. Managing these documents means making many decisions about the content every day. IBM Classification Module can accurately and automatically organize information so that it is not only more accessible and you can better leverage it, but also helps reduce your risk and costs. Automating the classification of your content means you can get more out of your ECM system, with less time invested. By correctly classifying information in your ECM system, documents have a higher probability of being found quickly. That means busy professionals can be more effective. Classification can be used to make a more basic decision whether to manage an item or not. By filtering out s about non-business activities or documents that don't meet your records management criteria, for example, you can keep your ECM infrastructure focused on the right content and eliminate costs for storing non-essential information. Learning by understanding While it can organize information by policies or key words, the unique aspect of IBM Classification Module's approach is its ability to assign metadata based on the full context of the document. It isn't just searching for a single word or phrase, but analyzing the entire document, discerning the topics in the text, then assigning it to a category. And it won't be fooled by misspellings, abbreviations, shorthand, or technical terms. The adapts to the unique nature of your business because it "learns" to identify different categories from examples you provide to it. And as you provide feedback on its performance, it adjusts in real time, immediately taking into account corrections you have made. 3 IPLA licenses can be transferred from one machine to another within, but not limited to an enterprise. You may aggregate the capacity for all the processors the product is operated on to achieve a more economic price. This will result in a single Proof of Entitlement (PoE). It is your responsibility to manage the distribution of Value Units within the limits of the entitlement of the product license. Subscription and Support must cover the same capacity as the product license entitlement. Subscription and Support will be available in the country in which the agreement is made. Product positioning The is a part of the IBM ECM portfolio and primarily targeted for use by IBM ECM customers. The previous version of the product (V8.3) was named IBM Classification Module for OmniFind Discovery Edition. With this release, IBM has dropped the OmniFind in order to target it more directly towards IBM Enterprise Content Management customers, and reduce the association of the technology as being exclusively search related. The product is stand-alone and can be used in tandem with any ECM system. The core classification capabilities are not reliant on any particular ECM system. Note that previous use cases of the software centered on the automated routing and response of customer s still applies. This use case is supported through the Case Resolution Module for OmniFind Discovery Edition. Statement of direction It is IBM's intention at this time to make V8.5 available for support on the AIX platform in the first quarter of IBM's plans are subject to change. Each program has a designated measurement. The most commonly used designated measurement is a processor core. However, for select programs, there are other designated measurements such as users, client devices, and messages. The number of Value Unit entitlements required for a program depends on how the program is deployed in your environment and must be obtained from a Value Unit table. You must obtain a PoE for the calculated number of Value Unit entitlements for your implementation. The Value Unit entitlements are specific to a program and may not be exchanged, interchanged, or aggregated with Value Unit entitlements of another program. Processor (Value Unit) A processor core is a functional unit within a computing device that interprets and executes instructions. A processor core consists of at least an instruction control unit and one or more arithmetic or logic unit. With multicore technology, each core is considered a processor. Not all processor cores require the same number of Value Unit entitlements. To calculate the number of Value Unit entitlements required, refer to the value unit table on the following Web site /sw-lotus/services/cwepassport. nsf/wdocs/pvu_table_for_customers With full capacity licensing, a PoE must be acquired for the appropriate number of value units based on all activated processor cores available for use on the server. Sub-capacity processor (Value Unit) For programs eligible for sub-capacity licensing, a PoE must be acquired for the appropriate number of Value Units based on all activated processor cores available for use in each partition (utilizing eligible partitioning technologies) where the program runs. Refer to the International Passport Advantage Agreement Attachment for sub-capacity terms or the program's license information to determine applicable sub-capacity terms. For those machines running programs with sub-capacity licensing terms, you must use IBM Tivoli License Manager for IBM Software to monitor program use and submit to IBM an IBM Use Report each calendar quarter. You can use more copies if you need them to support your operational environment, but only one copy is required to monitor all your sub-capacity licensed products.
