Learn to create dynamic job cost reports using FOUNDATION s report writing tool. This session will give an overview and explanation of available cells in the report writer and how to use them effectively. Also, learn the Plan the Work, Work the Plan strategy for approaching the DataGenie and learn tips on formulating reports before accessing the DataGenie. You ll also cover how to use calculated fields by creating IF/THEN statements, drill-down capabilities, contract summary information, quantity-based reporting to track production, percentage of completion calculations, and the creation of custom Over/Under Billing reports. ADVANCED PAYROLL Program Level: Advanced / CPE Credit: 3.5 This session will open up new opportunities for you to better utilize the payroll module. Learn how to auto-create invoices by integrating miscellaneous deductions with the Accounts Payable module, and how to import timecards from various software to decrease the data entry time. Save office space by attaching scanned documentation to your payroll records. Create custom employee lists and explore new ways to use your payroll reports effectively. See how payments groups can be used to create multiple checks for a single employee. Because you and your company s needs are unique, we offer this three-hour session twice, with the last hour of each class focusing on a different topic; one class will explore the needs of prevailing wage setup, and the other will discuss union setup and reporting. AIAs In order to better track cash flow as work is being completed, AIA (or line item) billing is commonly used in the construction industry to bill out on a percent complete level. Its use can expedite payment and reduce the possibility of errors. AIAs are also beneficial for tracking how much has been billed and retained for each contract line item. The various AIA formats that you ll learn to use in this class are: G702, G703, and G702 CMA. A/P & A/R TROUBLESHOOTING Program Level: Intermediate / CPE Credit: 2 This session offers an in-depth look into the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Modules in FOUNDATION. We ll discuss: adjusting, modifying, and reversing invoices; voiding checks; and reversing cash receipts. In addition, you ll learn how such adjustments affect retainage, the General Ledger, and Job Costing. This session will offer a special focus on the reports of the A/P and A/R Modules as they relate to auditing and troubleshooting. Finally, you ll learn to avoid the most common pitfalls, and make your system usage more efficient and accurate, through numerous tips and tricks related to both modules.

5 SESSIONS BASIC INVENTORY Foundation not only helps to keep your accounts and finances in order, it can also keep track of your inventory. This session will teach you how to utilize the Inventory Module, one of the more complex modules in the Foundation system, and explores the options that you have for setup and daily use, so that you can tailor the module to your company s specific needs. Learn about setup options, basic daily usage, and troubleshooting issues. You ll also take an in-depth look at reporting as it applies to the Inventory Module, Purchase Orders, Accounts Payable, and Job Costing. BASIC PAYROLL Those that are new to the Module, those that "back up" the person, or even project managers: this session is for you. Learn the basic flow of running your payroll. We'll cover setup of the maintenance records, the interaction of tax tables, trades, workers comp setups and entering new employees. See how miscellaneous deductions are set up and used, what earn codes are and how they re used, and why your pay period dates are so important. See how checks and direct deposits are printed and posted, and which reports you should run. BASIC REPORTING & AUDITING Program Level: Basic/Intermediate / CPE Credit: 2 This class will help you to find the reports you need to better understand your company and balance the books. We ll review how to tie out the Income Statement to the Job Cost module, and the A/P and A/R Aging Reports to your Trial Balance. In addition, there will be report criteria discussions as well as saving, deleting and clearing criteria. You ll also learn additional filtering and sorting options not apparent to the newer user. The main purpose of this class is to make you more comfortable tying out numbers and utilizing the many reports within FOUNDATION for Windows. DOCUMENT CONTROL TEMPLATE EDITORS Program Level: Advanced / CPE Credit: 1 Would you like to be able to create custom documents that closely match your company s standard designs? Come to this session to learn all about the Document Control Template Editors, and how you can utilize them to create the forms that you ve been wanting! DOCUMENT IMAGING & A/P ROUTING Program Level: Intermediate/Advanced / CPE Credit: 2 Are you looking to incorporate the actual electronic images of your A/P invoices into FOUNDATION for Windows? In this session, we ll be looking at the Document Imaging and Routing Module and detailing its capabilities for storing and viewing various documents in Accounts Payable,, Job Costing, PO/Subs, and other areas of the system. In addition, we ll be looking at how you can utilize the routing capability to send A/P Invoices to project managers or other users for review, approval, or revisions. EQUIPMENT USAGE Using your own equipment on jobs adds another dimension to job costing. In this session we ll talk about the advantages to job costing your equipment and how this affects the general ledger. We ll also review daily operations through and Equipment Journal Entry, and review reports including equipment profitability. EQUIPMENT WORK ORDERS Learn to track the service and maintenance performed on some of your most valuable assets your equipment. We ll cover setting up service/expense codes, generating and printing work orders, tracking equipment expenses through and Accounts Payable, and review service and work order reports. FIXED ASSETS At the end of the year, are you surprised when your CPA gives you your final adjusting entries and your Income Statement suddenly takes a huge hit? Depreciation is one of the most overlooked areas on periodic financial statements. Learn how FOUNDATION can help you better track both the monthly cost of depreciation and the ongoing value of your individual assets. You ll learn how to set up the Fixed Assets Module and bring it up-to-date, as well as how to keep up with the monthly activity. FORM GENIES (EXCLUDING D/C) Program Level: Basic/Intermediate / CPE Credit: 2 Submitting printed invoices, purchase orders, and subcontracts are an integral part of the day to day tasks a construction company must do on a regular basis. Not all construction companies are the same, so creating custom designs that suit your company is very important. This class will focus on using FOUNDATION s Form Genies to create printable invoices, purchase orders, and subcontracts. FOUNDATION IMPORT GENIES Explore the various import capabilities offered by our custom Import Genies. We ll explain how Foundation can be linked up with your favorite third party software programs, and discuss the importing of job budgets, job cost quantities, timecards, and equipment usage. FOUNDATION MOBILE MAIL MERGE (CONNECTED TO FIRST QUERY CLASS) Program Level: Advanced / CPE Credit: 2 Explore the Mail Merge feature offered by Microsoft Word. Tap into the FOUNDATION Database to create customized form letters; use basic database queries to create customer, employee, and vendor lists; and learn to create MS Word templates that can be merged with information from FOUNDATION s database tables. You ll also learn how to create custom labels through mail merges, and how to select unique records to create the merged documents. NEW USER ACCOUNTS PAYABLE & P/O SUBS Learn about the many advantages of entering and tracking Purchase Orders and Subcontracts within FOUNDATION, including tracking committed costs on jobs and simplifying the Accounts Payable invoice entry process. If you re looking to implement PO/Sub tracking into your business, come learn the basics, including entering detailed PO/Subs that provide line item details, entering change orders, and creating printable PO/Subs. Returning and formatting data in Microsoft Excel. Brief overview of database structure defining tables and fields. Use of tables and auto-filter options in Excel. Accessing the data stored in the SQL database via the MS Query Tool. Creating simple Maintenance item lists. Setting criteria on queries to include / exclude selected items. Queries against items with UDFs attached. Overview of commonly accessed tables in Foundation s database for items stored in Job Cost and General Ledger History. Designed for new FOUNDATION users, this session explores the basics of Accounts Receivable. Topics include a look at A/R Maintenance (discussing customers, terms, and sales tax authorities); daily transactions (like invoice entry, cash receipts, statements, adjustments, and reversals); and a review of the reporting options in the A/R Module.

6 SESSIONS NEW USER GENERAL LEDGER Along with the Job Costing Module, the General Ledger Module is a holding point for all data entered in FOUNDATION. This class will cover the basics like entering and reversing G/L journal entries, setting up recurring G/L journals, reconciling cash accounts, and running G/L reports (including financial reporting). Additionally we ll discuss the basic setup of overhead allocation, creation of DataGenie financial reporting, and setting up G/L budgets. View your completed schedule on a Gantt chart format that can also be easily printed out. SERVICE DISPATCH Program Level: Basic/Intermediate / CPE Credit: 2 This session is a great opportunity if you already own this module, or have a Service Department and are interested in seeing how Service Dispatch can help! Learn how to: Effectively utilize the dispatch board. Utilize recurring billing and recurring dispatch functionality. Auto create jobs through the S/D Module. In this session, we ll be reviewing new and updated functionality and show you how these changes may impact how you use the software. In this session you ll learn how to define mark-ups; generate, review, and modify worksheets; and create and print billings. We ll also look at how to determine previous billing amounts and share some tips for creating your T/M Billing Invoice structure. TIPS & TRICKS FOR THE NEW USER Become more familiar and comfortable moving around the software. This class will make your data entry more efficient as you learn the many keyboard shortcuts that can save you time and effort when getting data into the software. We ll also cover items such as deleting and purging records, and copying and restoring databases. We ll discuss the use of query mode and the SQL button, as well as exporting reports to Excel. Finally, we ll touch on User Defined Fields and entering notes and reminders into the software. UNIT PRICE BILLING Matt Straka Program Level: Basic/Intermediate / CPE Credit: 1 In this class, you ll learn how to create billings using the Unit Price format. Unit Price billing is similar to billing using the AIA format, except instead of billing using a dollar or percent complete method, you can also bill by quantity. This will allow you to do work for many state and federal transportation agencies, with the added ability to import the agency s items. Unit Price billing also provides automatic posting to the Accounts Receivable Module, as well as automatically updating the Job Costing Module with completed quantities. This session focuses on all the various tasks that have to be done during December and January. You ll learn how to plan in advance for many of the common year-end issues, such as non-monetary fringes (company cars, etc.), third-party sick pay, and bonus checks. Walk away with a plan, knowing that you ll be able to print your W2s without batting an eye.
