IT departments will find CAA-RADE products to be more tightly integrated and more agile than ever for use with their third-party products. Specifically, Multi-Workspace Application Builder can now convey 32- and 64-bit Windows platform compiler capability in one unique product running on both platforms. This release introduces and exposes APIs for CATIA Simulation, DELMIA Process Detailing and Work Instruction solutions, and ENOVIA VPLM Solutions. 2 Key prerequisites CAA RADE V5 runs on selected system levels of: Microsoft Windows XP IBM AIX Hewlett Packard HP-UX Sun Solaris Consideration should also be given to intended run-time environment, applications being developed, their target platforms, and operating systems. Planned availability date October 1, 2007 Description CAA RADE V5 is the next-generation middleware for implementing 3D PLM best practices and business processes through process-centric applications. Deploying PLM necessitates that product life-cycle development capability has significant breadth and depth. The specific company's need will further require that capability can be expanded, tailored, extended, and integrated. These requirements necessitate openness and the ability to reapply components to achieve different behavior or capability. The component application architecture delivered with the V5 products is specifically developed to meet these needs. This is augmented through a community of application developers who have recognized the value of PLM and the opportunity to enrich V5 through their areas of expertise. Market leaders in each of their respective disciplines characterize the richness of the partner community around V5. Previously created CAA applications must be recompiled before they are used with the current release. What's new For V5.18, Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 (VC 8.0) is a new prerequisite compiler for the IDE on both 32- and 64-bit Microsoft Windows platform for CAA Multi-Workspace Application Builder (MAB). Support is withdrawn for the following: Microsoft Visual Studio 2002 SP1 IDE IBM Rational Software Modeler V6 IRAD6.0 IDE The ssh protocol for remote access to UNIX capability is now supported for the CAA C++ Interactive Dashboard (CID) product. The following are new prerequisites in the IDE: IBM Rational Software Modeler (RSM) V7 for the CAA Data Model Customizer (DMC) product IBM Rational Application Developer V7.0 for both the CAA Web Application Component (WAC) and CAA Java Interactive Dashboard (JID) products WebSphere Application Server V6.1 integrated test server support is now available for the CAA Web Application Component (WAC) product. This release delivers: CAA Multi-Workspace Application Builder (MAB) updates Support of ssh for Windows/UNIX communication protocol Users can keep workspace synchronized and build on a UNIX platform using an ssh protocol (note that rsh option is still available), provided they have generated public/private keys beforehand and copied the public key on the UNIX host. RADE/CID interface prompts the user to locate the private key on the Windows platform. Integration of ssh protocol into CAA RADE enables the same level of CAA cross-platform function with a higher level of security. CAA C++ Interactive Dashboard (CID) update RADE add-ins available for VisualStudio 2005 on 32-bit Windows platform: Enables RADE/CID add-ins to work on top of Visual Studio 2005, provided the add-ins are installed on the 32-bit machine. 4 WebSphere Application Server V6.1 is the requested level for V5.18. Java development environment is required to support this level as integrated test server, which is part of IRAD 7 (IRAD 6 supports WebSphere Application Server V6.0 only). Installation is the only change for the client process. Installation of RADE-WAC plug-ins for IRAD runs through an extension site, in order to be closer to the standard integration of plug-ins in an Eclipse environment. CAA Data Model Customizer Product (DMC) Migration of CAA Data Model Customizer (DMC) on IBM Rational Software Modeler 7 Enable DMC to run on top of IBM Rational Software Modeler V7 with same capabilities than with former edition of IBM Rational Software Modeler: -- Open DMC workspace in IBM Rational Software Modeler V7 software -- Define Prerequisites for workspace -- Create an ENOVIA Customization (new metadata) -- Create new class, new attribute, new index -- Generate metadata Publish metadata in database Install RADE-DMC plug-ins for IBM Rational Software Modeler runs through an extension site, in order to be closer to the standard integration of plug-ins in an Eclipse environment.
