Stakeholders can perform detailed return-on-investment (ROI), payback, or break-even analysis using AIE, NPV, IRR, and numerous other financial measures to determine the highest return to the enterprise. The marriage of top-down portfolio analysis with bottom-up project management allows for the implementation of systematic phase gating and portfolio review processes complete with stringent save/kill decision points.
