5 Market demands Rockwell transacts business both directly with customers and through an extensive network of distributors Standard pricing and discounts exist in each country but special discounts are often granted based on specific local circumstances and competition Each Rockwell Automation AP entity differed in levels of process maturity We needed a common regional tool to drive consistency and improve process control!

6 The Then Current State Each AP entity utilized a different instance of MFG/Pro and had developed local tools and processes to support special pricing From offline paper files to various unlinked spreadsheets Review and approval rules varied by local support constraints Process variance resulted in poor metric reporting Offline systems limited visibility to negotiated discounts, leading to customer conflicts

Sales order maintenance program modified to include validations for applying SPR. Inquiry program to know status of SPRs.

16 Lessons learnt Flexibility is important but can dilute your outputs and diminish process control No matter how much user input and feedback you solicit, additional requests for enhancement will start the day you launch Don t underestimate the importance of communication and local management buy-in!
