6 REGENERATION HALFWAY HOUSING Regeneration: A halfway housing project for the city of Pasadena. The concept behind the building was based on reviving the lives of ex-convicts and to introduce them back into society with the skills to start a career. The program includes housing units, psychological support, cafe, conference rooms, and a skills development seminar room. 7 REGENERATION Elevation-Open Sliders Transparency was a key characteristic that was considered in the design of the building. Based on the unique characteristics of the site, circulation was the influence for the form shown in the parti diagram. 10 ludus MAGNUS SERVICE CENTER COLOSSEUM Entrance Perspective Site Plan The majority of Rome sits in its own ruins recognized as palimpsests and this site creates a relationship between an ancient gladiatorial practice arena know as the Ludus Magnus and the Colosseum, The service center provides another entrance to the Colosseum as well as an exhibition of the ancient ruins that are located at the base of the site.the project engages in the site context by creating physical frames, that focus views towards the Colosseum and Nero's gardens located to the North. 8 Front Axonometric

Bookstore Cafe Terrace Entrance Sequence SERVICE CENTER Second Floor Plan Internet Members Lounge COLOSSEUM The unique layout of the project allows for visitors to become engaged in the experience of an ancient gladiator as they walk the paths that a gladiator would to the Colosseum via a tunnel under the street. The project also offers a public cooridor in which a restaurant and cafe provide daily services. The convenient shape of the plan allows for multiple accounts of access for the opportunity of flexible hours and easy access around the site. The benefit of being a member at the service center is's the exclusive members lounge which provides amazing views, a bar, a relaxation area and also game tables. The Ludus Magnus rebuilt. 11
