17 Manufacturers and product selection Let manufacturers know what you want and need. Help manufacturers understand sustainability and LEED. Be skeptical of claims. Understand the difference between a contributory LEED credit and a compliance LEED credit. Contractors and product selection Determine the availability of products before you specify them. Contractors cannot obtain what is not available. Understand the implications of installation materials and methods and how they relate to sustainability.
