1 Ecoglo has developed advance technology for the production of high visibility Photoluminescent and anti-slip step edge and path marking systems. These provide for the safe and efficient movement of people 24 hours a day. Ecoglo will be happy to assist you with a solution to comply with Fire Safety Code (2013) Cl Photoluminescent marking & Cl How The Ecoglo System Works Ecoglo uses a patented process to produce a range of products that provide a five pronged solution to pathfinding needs: High visibility in light and dark conditions 24 hour step edge contrast Slip resistance Resistance to wear Sustainability How The Ecoglo System Works Unlike electrical lighting the Ecoglo product range is fail-safe, as the use of photoluminescent pigment allows it to glow brightly in the dark for many hours. Ecoglo s patented application process embeds this pigment in a clear durable polymer that ensures maximum glow efficiency. Ecoglo products give confidence to those leaving a building in darkness, making egress easier, faster and safer. 24 Hour Step Edge Contrast Ecoglo step-edge products incorporate a black anti-slip strip and a photoluminescent strip to produce internal contrast. Together these provide excellent luminance and colour contrast that exceeds all international contrast requirements. Even users with impaired visibility find Ecoglo products aid their safe movement. Extensive testing has shown that Ecoglo step edge is clearly visible in all lighting conditions; whether dark, light, twilight or dim. Slip Resistance The anti-slip material incorporated into the product range is hard wearing and resilient to high volumes of foot traffic. In addition the unique ridges in Ecoglo strips provide all-weather slip resistance. Resistance To Wear Ecoglo step edge products are built to be walked on. The unique ridges protect the photoluminescent pigment from high volume foot traffic. Ecoglo products have passed a range of Internationally accredited tests relating to UV resistance, abrasion and cleaning. The high UV resistance means they have been installed in both indoor and outdoor facilities around the world. The unique high temperature bonding process protects the Ecoglo product range from abrasive wear so there is no chance of de lamination or peeling. Sustainability Ecoglo products incorporate recycled aluminium and the factory s energy supply is provided by a carbon neutral supplier. All products are non toxic and non radioactive. They are built to last the life of the facility and can then be readily recycled. Ecoglo provides you with a sustainable building solution. 26

Perimeter demarcation lines: Stair landings and other floor areas within exit enclosures, with the exception of the sides of steps, shall be with demarcation lines on the wall. Ecoglo MS50 as the demarcation lines shall be placed on the floor or on the wall or a combination of both: not be less than 150mm or more than 400 mm above the floor level. 3. Directional Signage: Photoluminescent directional signs shall be placed in the stairwell and exit. The signs shall be located such that the bottom of the low level sign shall not be less than 150mm or more than 400 mm above the floor level. 4. Handrail: Ecoglo H3-001 handrail strip along the top of all handrails adjacent to the steps. Up to 100mm gaps are allowed where there are bends or curves in the handrail. Where it is considered inappropriate or impractical to install H3-001 on a handrail, a wider and brighter strip (MS50) can be installed on the wall next to the handrail. The strip must be within 100mm horizontal and 50mm vertical of the handrail. Sign H3-001 Flat Nosing Staircase 27
