3 International Focus - The Pays de la Loire Region is present in Europe, Mexico, Africa, China The Regional Government of the Pays de la Loire opened Office in Chennai India in The Office will represent the Regional Authorities in India; develop bi-lateral ties in Industry, Research, Training etc

4 Objective: Support Industries and Industrial Partners in their actions PDL Office in Chennai works with Institutions in France and India like the Chambers of Commerce and Industries, Industry Bodies in both the countries Promote Trade and Industrial Development between Indian and French Companies; support joint research programs; develop Technical Training etc.

5 Facilitating Market Access for Companies: In partnership with the CCIP/Indian Partner offers information and advisory support to companies Does feasibility studies for specific queries Facilitating industrial contacts with the appropriate agencies Organizes and coordinates business delegations of multiple or single companies Ensuring project follow up among industrial stakeholders post-mission Providing Institutional Support to Companies, if need be

6 Institutional Support can also take the form of incentives given by the regional government to companies to develop an international focus: making a website in English, participation in trade fairs, training, support to recruiting trainees Between , PdL Region has supported more than 60 companies from the Region to access the Indian Market. 25 projects have been conclusive

8 Ecole des Mines (Engineering School from Nantes) has signed an agreement with the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies to promote research in Bio-fuels etc. Ocean Waves and Marine Renewable Energy Department of the ECOLE CENTRALE DE NANTES - Engineering School from Nanteshas developed a test facility (SEMREV) for offshore wind energy systems, located on the Atlantic coast (90km from Nantes) in the PdL. This School (ECN) is already working with several Indian Engineering Institutions, and Michelin Tyres for developing R&D in various areas including energy efficiency.
