LIPA s current energy plan prjects cumulative annual energy savings f 9,433,580 MWh frm 2009 thrugh And cumulative annual capacity savings f 575 MW n a 2009 peak lad base f 5300 MW and a prjected 2018 peak lad base f 5900 MW. The Smart Grid Demnstratin Prject n Lng Island is a partnership f LIPA, the AERTC and Farmingdale State Cllege, t determine what kinds f incentives are mst effective t get residential, cmmercial and industrial custmers t manage their energy use with Smart Grid technlgies.

4 Hw Organizatins Can Reduce Carbn Ftprints The availability f incentives t save energy has revealed a gap in prfessinal certificatin prcesses. Other than the Building Perfrmance Institute certificatin, which isn t fcused n energy efficiency and alternative and renewable technlgies, there is n natinally recgnized prfessinal certificatin standard fr the auditing f structures fr energy efficiency and alternative and renewable surces. The AABE culd prvide a very imprtant service by cllabrating with ther rganizatins t develp this certificatin standard. The AERTC s Advanced Energy Training Institute is already wrking with the lcal chapter f the U.S. Green Building Cuncil n this prblem. # 4
