2 1. FINANCE MANAGER JOB REF: TAVEVO/001/12/2018-(1 Position) Tavevo Water and Sewerage Company is seeking to recruit a competent individual to fill the position of Finance Manager. The successful candidate will Report to the Managing Director. Job Purpose: Effective and efficient financial management of the company. Key Responsibilities i. Financial management ii. Produce financial statements. iii. Produce management reports to the Managing Director. iv. Prepare financial reports for the Board of Directors. v. Involve in negotiations with banks, sponsors, donors, and stakeholders vi. Supervision of the accounts department including management and development of staff. vii. Production of forward budgets, revised and annual estimates viii. Coordination of accounting matters in various branches ix. Systems development and management x. Liaison with other departments on financial needs xi. Handle Audit queries and reports xii. Manage payment processing xiii. Member of tender committee xiv. Prepare periodic and annual Financial Reports xv. Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and International Accounting Standards. xvi. Vet financial transactions and take corrective measures xvii. Prepare cash flow statements xviii. Keep custody of accounting documents xix. Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience required for this Role Be a Kenyan Citizen Be a holder of Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting/Finance Option) Business Administration, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution Be a holder of CPA (K) or its equivalent Page 2 of 9

3 Be registered with Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (ICPAK), Relevant work experience of not less than five (5) years, out of which a minimum of two years (2) be in senior management position Master s degree with a bias in Accounting or Finance or equivalent qualification from recognized institution will be an added advantage Proficiency in Computer skills and handling accounting softwares Evidence of management courses attended at recognized institutions lasting at least four (4) weeks. INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER JOB REF: TAVEVO/002/12/2018-(1 Post) TAVEVO Water and Sewerage Company Limited is seeking to recruit a competent individual to fill the position of Internal Audit Manager. The successful candidate will Report to Audit Committee functionally and administratively to the Managing Director. Job Purpose: Responsible for providing independent and objective assurance on effectiveness of internal controls in TAVEVO water and sewerage company Ltd. Primary responsibilities include performing financial, operational, and process audits of the Company s business. Key Responsibilities: Operational Audit Coordinate timely preparation of risk based internal audit work plans and budget estimates as well as outlining key activities to be undertaken to achieve desired targets; Monitor the administration and use of internal audit policies and procedures, and make recommendations for change to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements and best practices; Page 3 of 9

4 Perform business process risk assessment and determine areas of high risk and audit focus to be incorporated in the audit plans for approval by the Audit committee; Execute audit plans and document audit observations, findings and recommendations; Examine, evaluate and report on the adequacy of internal controls and advice management and the Board of Directors on the same Conduct special audits, investigations and report on observations, findings with recommendations to the management and Audit Committee; Regularly report and update the Audit Committee on planned reviews, investigations, and any other related ad-hoc activities; Communicate and follow reports and recommendations to ensure implementation of actions points as approved by the committee and the Board of Directors; Prepare comprehensive written Audit report; Perform control reviews for ICT systems security, development, maintenance, disaster recovery, and other cyber security related matters; Evaluate ICT control environment with regards to emerging technologies and recommend adequate control measures to mitigate any risk exposures Administrative Roles Offer leadership to staff in the Audit Department; Staff training and performance management; Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders; Ensure adherence to internal audit procedure manuals and plans; Attend and participate as Secretary to the Audit Committee meetings; Work closely with external auditors and provide relevant support as may be required; Perform any other role as may be assigned from time to time. 5 Be a holder of Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. Master s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution will be an added advantage Be a holder of CPA (K) or its equivalent Be registered with Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (ICPAK), Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), and/or Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA) Relevant work experience of not less than five (5) years in senior management position. Proficiency in Computer skills, especially accounting Evidence of management course attended at recognized institution lasting at least four (4) weeks Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity 3. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER JOB REF: TAVEVO/003/12/2018- (1 Post) Tavevo Water and Sewerage company Ltd is seeking to recruit a competent individual to fill the position of Business Development Manager. The successful candidate will Report to the Managing Director Job Purpose: To develop and diversify business to increase revenues and growth of the organization so as to achieve short and long-term goals for TAVEVO Water and Sewerage Company. Key Responsibilities Coordinate development and review of Marketing policies, strategies and programmes for TAVEVO Provide advice on pricing strategies Provide advice on market trends and dynamics Oversee development and implementation of corporate marketing plans and budgets for the Company Page 5 of 9

6 Ensure appropriate engagement with stakeholders and our esteemed customers Monitor public perception about TAVEVO Oversee day to day operations within and outside the County in terms of marketing Develop performance targets for marketing services Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends Developing growth strategies and plans for the client base. Writing business proposals for the expansion of TAVEVO business and customer portfolio. Negotiating with key stakeholders. Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs. Researching on business opportunities and viable income streams. Maintain relationships with current clients and identify new prospects within the area assigned for TAVEVO a company Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience required for this position Be a holder of Bachelor s degree in any of the following disciplines; Social Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. Master s Degree in any of the following disciplines; Social Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution will be an added advantage Having a diploma in marketing will be an added advantage. TECHNICAL MANAGER JOB REF: TAVEVO/004/12/2018- (1 Post) TAVEVO Water and Sewerage Company is seeking to recruit a competent individual to fill the position of a Technical Manager. The successful candidate will Report to the Managing Director Job Purpose: Plan, direct and coordinate activities in fields of abstraction, production, quality assurance and distribution of water in the Company s jurisdiction. Key Responsibilities Direct, coordinate, control and manage the Company s Technical Operations and Maintenance of the water infrastructure. Responsible for maintaining water service delivery infrastructure in the county where TAVEVO operates. Manage construction works, either by using external consultants or Company resources. Manage Company assets such as and not limited to plants and machinery through effective maintenance and repair Develop programs that ensure efficient utilization of assets and overall infrastructure. Establish the necessary staffing needs for the department and ensure there is well trained and efficient workforce in the Company. Develop departmental strategies, policies and plans to facilitate achievement of overall Company objectives. Ensure compliance with legal statues and regulations that govern the water industry in the Country and in the County. Provide Technical guidance necessary in development of new products necessary in achieving company strategies. Establish a Non-Revenue Water management unit plans and targets that are realistic and workable within the Company. Ensure regular/daily, prompt and accurate preparation of water production, sales and supply statistics. Collating and analyzing the NRW data and advising all the sections on any interventions that may be necessary at any point in Time. Prepare project proposals and technical reports to present to the management and the Board of Directors. Page 7 of 9

8 Any other responsibilities assigned from time to time by Managing Director for purposes of TAVEVO achieving its mandate. Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience required for this Role Be a holder of BSc Water Engineering or Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. Master s Degree in Water Engineering or Civil or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution will be an added advantage Be a registered member of the Engineering Board of Kenya (EBK). Satisfactorily work experience performance in related water utility or equivalent field for a period of five (5) years, out of which have a minimum of two (2) years in a senior management position Proficiency in Computer skills Evidence of management course attended at recognized institution lasting at least four (4) weeks Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results Be able to work for long hours past the stipulated time even on emergency Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity Applications should be submitted in a sealed envelope indicating the position applied for and its job reference hence addressed to: The Managing Director, TAVEVO Water and Sewerage Company Ltd, P.
