Estonian Annual Human Resources Conference takes place in April and it is entitled Vital organisation. Two days full of ideas, inspiration and information of how to make your organisation more durable, powerful and adaptable. Not only organisation but people and yourself as well. We have tried to give the event fresh and inspiring format and arranged presentations so that there will be no boring speaker on stage. Conference opening keynote speaker is youthful Max McKeown who is talking about innovation in HR and in general. Conference closing key speaker is Geoff Burch who has been said to be the most original business guru in Europe. Geoff is well known by his humorous yet powerful business messages. Both foreign speakers talk about vital organisation but from different angles: Max Mckeown talks about innovation and Geoff Burch about common sense. There are a lot of top executives and HR practitioners from successful Estonian companies as well and they speak about overcoming difficult times. Jan Andresoo from Swedbank talks about implementing change, Riina Einberg from Ambient Sound Investment introduces her HR experience in knowledge-based start-up companies, Kristjan Lepik from tarkinvestor.ee (smart investor) explains what is happening in global economy and how it influences Estonian organisations and Tauri Tallermaa, memory trainer, teaches participants to raise your power of life by thinking right. He has been nominated as a "Star of Human Resources" by Personnel Today, and been featured on national and international radio, television, and newspapers. Max has written six books, including "Unshrink" featuring the myths that stop our people doing their best work and a set of new principles to engage their interest and ability. An organization has to adapt with a new reality and that enforces managers to use different measures. To be honest, a lot of these measures are not positive and happy from the personnel point of view. How should an organization be lead during this period? How to find solutions that help us make an effort together? What is the influence of leader s messages? How can you be honest when it is difficult to see the future? What helps us manage the situation and come out stronger? Jan Andresoo speaks about what happens in an organization when urge to change does not let us act in a traditional ways.

Innovative business models and organisation structures can mostly be found at start-up companies and knowledge based companies. They dare to question current ways to run things in the organisation. It happens that some company grows from small to medium size without certain functions at all or these are organised rather differently. What could we learn from such enterprises? Riina Einberg focuses on the following: - Is it important to have HR function in start-up companies? - How are investment object s teams evaluated? - What can we learn or overtake from new business models from HR point of view? Riina Einberg built Skype Estonia s HR team and hired technology professionals all over the world making Skype team grow from 100 up to 300 people. Today Riina works as a Management and HR consultant in Ambient Sound Investment (ASI). She is also the Member of Management board of portfolio company Guardtime. She has worked as a business line manager in one of the Baltics' biggest IT companies MicroLink. Riina has graduated in physics from the University of Tartu. 14:30-15:00 Break 15:00-16:00 Kristjan Lepik founder of tarkinvestor.ee and commentator on economic issues VITAL FUTURE How economic developments influences HR work? What does it mean for us when the government of USA decides to let General Motors go bankrupt? How does the change of crude oil price influence our work? How does the falling real estate prices influence HR manager s work? Knowing the big economic picture helps us understand developments in our own organization and organize our work more consciously. The presentation helps to understand: - What are the future scenarios of the world economy? - What do these scenarios mean for Estonia and how do they influence organizations? - What does HR should know regarding these scenarios? Kristjan Lepik graduated from the University of Tartu, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. He worked as a head of brokerage in an investment bank Lõhmus Haavel & Viisemann (LHV). Kristjan has seen the rough side of investment world when US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) started an investigation on LHV. After selling his partnership in LHV he started an independent finance portal Kristjan has spoken about economy and investments in different conferences, universities and is often seen in the media. He has three sons and a common-law wife. 16:00-16:15 Break

Acting is nowadays highly valued but before taking an action you have to think of whether you are acting right and doing right things. In the information society where we consume a lot of information thinking turns out to be a difficult thing to do. Understanding and improving thinking has to be taken as dealing with any other competence. When we do not take it like that this skill will fade away. The first presentation of the day is dedicated to opening the secrets of vital thinking. It helps to arrange your own thoughts and direct thinking and acting of others better. In addition to a lot of interesting things we learn how people: - Know; - Understand; - Believe and - Do. Tauri Tallermaa started with memory trainings at the beginning of the 21st century and he is one of the best trainers in Estonia today. He is a popular and highly valued speaker because he can explain relationship between efficiency and memory in a simple way so that it helps you improve yourself. Tauri worked as a finance manager in financial sector for a long time and started his trainer s career in 1994 with finance trainings. He has also been an executive manager of advertising agency Kala Ruudus. Tauri graduated from Tallinn University of Technology. 11:00-11:45 Uldis Pavuls Energise founder and trainer VITAL ENERGY From Dracula to Duracell - How to increase the level of energy in an organisation Media is full of negative information about economy and society in general. Uldis Pavuls is a Partner at a competence development company Energise, Ltd. that specialises in designing efficient learning environment and custom made corporate training programmes. He completed master's degree in organisational psychology at University of Stockholm and doctor's degree in social psychology at University of Latvia, where currently holds position of a docent. This year there is a lot of emphasize on top management s view on HR and leadership. Isn t it right than at stormy seas the role of the captain is more important than when cruising in calm waters. And the expectations to the crew are much higher. We have invited to the panel top managers to discuss about the roles, responsibilities and co-operation of CEO and HR people. Marek Helm Estonian Ministry of the Interior, Head of Creation of the Joint Agency for Internal Security Marek Helm on lõpetanud Sisekaitseakadeemia tollieriala ning aastast jätkab õpinguid magistriõppes, mille raames on plaanis kaitsta magistritöö sisejulgeoleku teemal. Lisaks on Marek Helm osalenud mitmel täiendkoolitusel Ameerika Ühendriikides, Suurbritannias, Poolas, Rootsis, Eestis ja mujal aasta maikuus asus on Marek Helm tööle Siseministeeriumisse sisejulgeolekupoliitika osakonna juhatajaks ning alates aasta novembrikuust oli ta samas ministeeriumis sisejulgeoleku asekantsler. Enne tööle asumist Siseministeeriumisse oli Marek kaks aastat ( ) Maksu- ja Tolliameti peadirektori asetäitja. Aastatel töötas Marek Helm Tolliametis, kus ta alustas Edela tolliinspektuuri nooreminspektorina, seejärel oli inspektor, tollijärelevalve osakonna juhataja, inspektuurijuhataja ning alates aastast Tolliameti peadirektori asetäitja. Olle Horm AS Skanska EMV, Chairman of the Board Olle Horm on õppinud Tallinna Tehnikaülikoolis ning oma tööalast karjääri alustas kütusefirmas Eesti Kütus, kus ta töötas spetsialistina ning alates aastast juhatuse esimehena. Oma töökogemust on ta rikastanud ka ehitusettevõttes EMV ning linnuvabrikus Tallegg. Viimast juhtis ta aastatel üheaegselt Rakvere Lihakombinaadiga, kus ta enne tänasele ametikohale asumist juhatuse esimehena töötas. Olle oskab väärtustada ka vaba aega ning endise korvpallurina hindab ta sporti ja spordi tegemist kõrgelt. Rein Kilk entrepreneur Rein Kilk on värvikas ettevõtja, keda on kutsutud Eesti Richard Bransoniks. Ta on investeerinud väga erinevatesse valdkondadesse alates toiduainetööstusest (Pere Grupp) lõpetades toitlustus- ja majutusäriga. Viimases näeb Kilk missiooni päästa ja taastada kaunid vanad hooned: Ammende Villa, Athena restoran, Ülikooli kohvik jne. Rein Kilk kommenteerib aktuaalseid Eesti sündmuseid iganädalases raadiosaates Keskpäevatund ja on oma otsekoheste seisukohtade tõttu oodatud esineja konverentsidel.

Varem aga Austria Tabak Eesti OÜ turundusjuhina ja suurklientide müügijuhina Unilever Eesti OÜ-s. Tal on MBA kraad Eesti Kõrgemast Kommertskoolist rahvusvahelises ärijuhtimises. Huvitav seos on see, et ka tema endine juht Olle Horm osaleb samas paneelarutelus. Sami Seppänen AS Elisa Eesti, Chairman of the Board, Managing Director Sami Seppänen on telekommunikatsiooni alal töötanud kogu oma karjääri vältel. Ta alustas ettevõtjana mobiiltelefone müües ja jätkas tööd soome firmades Tietopuhelin ja Elisa. Ta on omandanud magistri-kraadi Lappeenranta Ülikoolis, talle meeldib golf, mäesuusatamine ning paragliding. Aastaid Eestis elanuna räägib Sami perfektset eesti keelt. 14:00-14:30 Break
