Training and development In addition to the practical experience, we support our Graduates with APC pathways in Commercial Property Practice or Planning and Development. On a day-today basis you will be working with staff across all levels, from support staff to Directors, giving you valuable insight and opportunity to learn. We recently moved to new open plan offices in Kings Cross and relaxed our dress code; jeans are standard and there s no daily need for a suit and tie. Our new, modern space reflects our working culture: flexible, collaborative and sociable. We re also lucky enough to have our own roof terrace, complete with table football and pool table. Going the extra mile We are passionate about doing our bit for both the environment and local communities. Our annual Community Day is a chance for us to donate our time volunteering in the communities surrounding our assets. This is alongside a number of fundraising activities undertaken throughout the year, often in partnership with other organisations. Catherine Wade Graduate Surveyor I joined Hammerson in September 2014 after completing my undergraduate degree in Real Estate at the University of Reading. Since joining I have spent time in our Retail Parks team, Investment team, have completed a secondment with DTZ (Cushman and Wakefield) for valuation experience, and am now in our Shopping Centre Asset Management team. I have been given responsibility to manage my own assets and lettings which has made for an interesting day job, giving me experience of a range of different situations. I am working towards sitting my APC next year and have been supported by the company, offering me various opportunities to achieve my competencies, mocks and training sessions. I have found Hammerson very welcoming and social, and an exciting company to be a part of. 6

Laurie Budden Graduate Surveyor I started at Hammerson in September In the past year I have been in three different teams our Investment team, our Shopping Centre team and our Retail Parks team. During this time I have been involved in various projects including the sale of a surplus piece of land (which I led), project management of a major mall refurbishment, including obtaining vacant possession and re-letting, and producing development appraisals. The way that Hammerson is structured and the profile Hammerson has in the industry gives you plenty of opportunities to impress. With its less formal dress code, move to Kings Cross and retail focus, I have found Hammerson to have a refreshingly different culture compared to other real estate companies I have worked in. 7

8 Previous Graduates Our success stories Shelley Taylor & Robert Van Vliet Asset Managers Both Shelley and Robert joined Hammerson through our Graduate Programme in After successfully completing the Programme and passing their APC they have gone on to take up permanent positions with Hammerson and now manage their own assets. Tom Webster Asset Manager Tom joined us as a graduate in September He went on to pass his APC in 2015, and is now working permanently in our Retail Parks team as an asset manager, and is responsible for the South East assets. 8

To apply to join our Graduate Programme in September 2016, please forward your CV and a covering letter addressing the below question to graduate.recruitment@hammerson.com What makes you want to start your career with Hammerson, and join a retail specific graduate programme? What value will you bring to a role in retail property? If your initial application is successful you will be invited to take part in an Assessment Centre. Successful candidates from the Assessment Centre will then be invited to a face-toface interview. We will be opening applications on Monday, 5 th October.
