This effort was specially to expand and focus on its training functions, in line with one of the primary objectives of FMM to develop potentials and enhance skills of personnel at every level in the industry. Its main criteria was to meet and match training demands thus providing adequate knowledge of industrial skills and management techniques for the manufacturing sector in Malacca. This will in turn create a pool of manpower trained in all aspects to face the challenges as the Malacca State joins the country in its move towards the status of an industrialized nation. FMM Institute Malacca Branch offers a wide range of functional corporate training programme to cater to the diverse needs of the manufacturing and services sectors. In addition, continuing professional education provides the opportunity for the working personnel to gain the necessary qualifications to upgrade themselves both professionally as well as for self-development. This opportunity is made possible through FMM Institute Certificate, Public and also In-House training programmes in selected areas of Industrial and Management Skills. FMM Institute Malacca Branch s training programmes can also be specially customized to meet the training needs of specific industries and can be conducted as In-House basis. These programmes outlines and objectives are discussed with the companies and the facilitators will be selected to develop the tailored-made programmes accordingly. Rest assured that all programmes are packaged to be cost effective with no compromising on the quality of the programmes and the desired results. FMM Institute is a registered Training Provider with the Human Resource Development Berhad (PSMB), hence we re continuously striving to upgrade training programmes through strategic alliances and collaborations by considering various factors such as from the industry and engagements with training experts and consultants from relevant areas to deliver programmes of higher degree of flexibility in terms of duration, learning and teaching resources including venues. Training Schemes Under the HRDF Employers who are registered with PSMB are eligible for training grants through the various schemes available under the HRDF. The most frequent used schemes are : SBL SCHEME Employers can claim for reimbursement from HRDF upon completion of the programme. However, approval from PSMB is required PRIOR to commencement of the programme by completing form PSMB/PGL/0/. and applying on-line at Training grants can be considered for all types of training programmes (both In- House and External) for the retraining and skills upgrading of employee s relevant to the needs of the employers. PROLUS SCHEME Employers can claim for reimbursement without the need to apply for prior approval. Kindly note that it is only for training programmes with the Approved Training Programme (ATP) status. PERLA SCHEME FMM Institute Malacca Branch will claim the entire course fee directly from the employer s account with HRDF. No prior approval is needed under this scheme. However, employers must submit form PSMB/PER/T2/06 to FMM Institute before the commencement of the programme. It is only applicable for training programmes with the Approved Training Programmes (ATP) status. SBL-KHAS SCHEME Similar to the PERLA Scheme BUT approval from PSMB is required PRIOR to commencement of the programme by completing form PSMB/PGL/0/ Employers must submit form PSMB/SBL-KHAS/T2/09 to FMM Institute Malacca Branch prior to commencement of the programme. Rate of Financial Assistant The PSMB s Board of Directors has approved that the 00% rate of financial assistance for training until further notice. This is applicable for all category of training eg. Management, Quality, Productivity, Supervisory, Technical, IT and Craft Skills, etc..

Eligibility to SME Corp s Skills Upgrading Programmes MANUFACTURING SECTOR (Including Agricultural-Based Industries) Annual Sales Value is NOT more than RM5million OR With less than 50 full-time employees Must posses Manufacturing License as well as the License from the Local Council SERVICE SECTOR (Including ICT) (Excluding Finance / Banking / Insurance) Annual Sales Value is NOT more than RM5million OR With less than 50 full-time employees M u s t p o s s e s B u s i n e s s L i c e n s e O R Letter of Exemption from the Local Authority/ Government to confirm business activities are legal SMEs must be registered under the Companies Act 955 (Private Limited Companies) or the Registration of Business Act 956 (Enterprise Companies) with majority Malaysian Shareholders (minimum 60%) ADDITIONAL SUPPORT DOCUMENTS required are : KSWP Statements (Issued by KWSP) Audited Accounts (ALL documents must be signed Certified True Copy on every page) SME who contribute to the Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF) can also apply for training grants under the various schemes available. The SMEs Skills Upgrading Programmes can also be conducted as In- House Training Programmes.
