The Information Services team provide the IT solutions and user support required to help the organisation meet its objectives effectively, providing its people with access to the tools and information they require, where and when they require them, so that they can add value. As the Information Services Programme Manager you will undertake the overall project management for all Information Services (IS) related projects or projects with a significant IS component. This will include detailed planning, resource management, communication, implementation, and handover to the operational support teams. What we are looking for Utilising a PRINCE II type approach to Governance aligned with Agile Delivery methods you ll work alongside other managers in the department as well as with the wider business to help define requirements and to transform those requirements into usable products. You ll be someone who is good at asking the right questions at the right time of both technical and non-technical people to fully understand what needs to be delivered, how, why and when and you ll continually improve on the tools in place to keep everyone on track. You ll be managing a small team of project specialists within IT to ensure that the needs of the business are delivered to requirements and to schedule.

2 Experience, knowledge and Qualifications in the related area To be successful in this role we believe you need to: Hold the following qualifications Prince II Qualified (or similar e.g. APM) (essential) DSDM Agile Qualified (or similar) (essential) An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) level qualification (desirable) Know about and understand Knowledge & understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) (essential) Understanding of the functions of Information Technology Services in an organisation (essential) Knowledge of how professional accreditation is attained within the finance or insurance sectors (desirable) Possess the following transferrable skills Ability to work within a pressurised environment and to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a customer focus and professional demeanour (essential) Be able to communicate courteously and effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels, both verbally and in writing (essential) Work collaboratively in a team (essential) Take responsibility for their own tasks whilst working within a team project (essential) Be able to co-ordinate team activities as and when required (essential) Be able to identify and recommend improvements to existing processes, including their own working processes as well as those of the business (essential) Seek to maintain quality standards during times of change (essential) Help to drive change through the creation of bespoke IT solutions to meet business needs (essential) Be able to demonstrate experience of Previous experience as a Project Manager in an IT environment (essential) Programme Management experience (essential) Business Analysis experience (desirable) Delivering change within an Agile framework (essential) Leading and supporting the personal development of direct line reports (essential) Mentoring and coaching direct line reports in project management best practice (essential) Experience working within an Awarding Body, Membership Body would be advantageous (desirable) Experience of working with development teams using Agile/SCRUM development methodologies would be an advantage (desirable) Managing own workload This is a busy role and in addition to the above it is essential that you can

3 Manage multiple objectives and see things through to completion within inevitably changing deadlines (essential) Self-organise and self-manage (essential) Have a flexible approach both to the type of work undertaken and working hours as required to meet team objectives and ultimately internal customer needs (essential) Progression in the role within the first month of employment within the first six months of employment for post holder for the period after 12 months in the business Within one month you ll: Be responsible for the day to day managing and status reporting of projects\programmes Managing dependencies between projects and development backlogs Guide business areas in the creating of formal business cases and guide them through the agreed IS projects approach and standards. Responsible for ensuring work packages are set in partnership with those teams or suppliers delivering the products. Within six months you ll: Ensure the integrity of the process and help build confidence in the role by ensuring a tight control is kept on costs and project controls. Delegation of the project activity to suitable project, business analysis staff in order to manage the project workload of the ISPM. Be responsible for defining the CII s approach and standards when implementing IS software projects. Ensure projects conform, in as far as can be applicable, to PRINCE II type governance methods. Delivery Methods will align to Agile methods where possible Work in collaboration with development manager(s) and business managers to prioritise projects and product backlogs Within twelve months and ongoing you ll be Be responsible for preparing, managing, scheduling and forecasting project\budgets analysing variances and initiating corrective actions Be the gatekeeper and owner of all documentation relating to IS projects and will ensure they are kept up to date and relevant. Be responsible for ensuring the software tools used for ongoing management of project related staff activity is used effectively and kept up to date.

Operate as operational project manager for projects about product, process or system improvements. Display all necessary project management skills manage outcomes, allocate tasks, monitor progress. Cascade objectives into local objectives ensuring they are specific, measurable, achievable and time bound. Identify and deliver operational level actions that will advance the strategic priorities. Try to break new ground and be creative when generating solutions. Create innovative working methods to generate new ideas. Use resources creatively and think laterally to identify new solutions. Have a flexible approach to problem solving. Look beyond the obvious and immediate information when generating solutions. Demonstrate resourcefulness in identifying and exploiting trends and developments. Exemplify positive service behaviours and promote a culture focused on ensuring members/ customer needs are met. Make clear, pragmatic and manageable plans for service delivery using programme and project management disciplines. Build effective, mutually beneficial relationships at a middle management level with key external stakeholders employers, policymakers, strategic suppliers. Have good communication skills, although may display a preference for either verbal or written forms of communication. Speak with confidence and credibility especially in your own specialist area. Present effectively with or without props (e.g. slides). Operate effectively with preferred style. Use body language, eye contact, physical presence to enhance impact. Form and articulate fact and evidence based opinion, educated on topics. Be able to convince others and open to changing opinion.

5 Technical Knowledge: your experience, qualifications and subject matter knowledge Hold CII Cert or Dip level qualification, or equivalent qualification from a professional body relevant to functional specialism, and/or relevant degree. Evidence a strong understanding and expertise in your functional specialism. Display a passion for a specific market/technical issue for which you are one of the key go to people. Apply relevant experience to CII issues including experience from your time within the CII, or experience from previous employers. Scrutinise, interrogate and interpret MI reports.
