1 JOB SCRPTON Post: Responsible to: Job Purpose: Head of MS, Funding and xams Assistant Principal Finance, Funding and Planning To develop and lead a dynamic MS and xams department to provide the College community with managed access to comprehensive, reliable, relevant and up-to-date information and report facilities. Main uties and Responsibilities: To ensure that data and information required by all stakeholders, funding bodies and agencies, and xamination Boards is accurately prepared, submitted and available on a timely basis. To develop core corporate systems in relation to course and learner data, student performance and monitoring, and dashboards. Lead and manage the MS and xaminations team ensuring that staff are managed, trained and motivated to meet the objectives and priorities of the service and the College. Maintain the central College student databases ensuring that both course and student data is held securely, with integrity and meets all regulatory and statutory requirements. nsure that processes for the capture and maintenance of student data are effective and efficient and that reporting is in place to maximise our curriculum provision and optimise funding into the College. Manage and deliver timely and reliable information in accordance with agreed plans and schedules including reports from across corporate systems such as BS, Promonitor, Proachieve, Proresource, ynistics providing analysis of data and training to users as required. nsure that data and information required by all stakeholders and external funding bodies/agencies is prepared, submitted and available on a timely basis including uploads to the necessary gateways. Oversee the College s arrangements for registering students with appropriate xamination Boards and maintaining and developing relationships with individual xamination Boards. Actively contribute to the development and successful delivery of an annual operating plan and budget which supports the College s mission, objectives and core values, providing funding advice to Curriculum colleagues as appropriate. Work proactively with colleagues across the College taking the initiative to resolve issues as they arise and contribute to appropriate College meetings. Attend and represent the College at sector specific groups to maintain sector knowledge and professional awareness of developments surrounding student information management.

2 nsure necessary system maintenance and upgrades are planned, communicated and implemented with minimal impact on business operations identifying any relevant training requirements which staff may need to be trained on or notified of the changes. evelop and implement an internal audit process which regularly monitors the accuracy of the student and course data, reporting regularly to management. Corporate Responsibilities Participate actively and flexibly in a range of College-wide activities such as duty rotas, enrolment and marketing events and staff and student activities. Adhere to the College Health and Safety Policy and safety rules, taking responsibility for your own actions and those of the staff within the area. Be responsible for the safeguarding and welfare of staff, children and young persons within and around the remit of MS/xams. Participate in the College s appraisal process. Support and promote the College s quality and iversity Policy in all areas of work. Commit to and uphold the Colleges nvironmental Policies and aspirations for sustainable learning provision. Carry out such duties within the general scope of the post, which may be assigned from time to time. Criteria for Measuring Performance The quality, timeliness and accuracy with which information and advice is provided to College senior managers, external agencies and colleagues. The effectiveness of cost and quality control in relation to the utilisation of resources and the delivery of services. The performance, motivation and development of personnel for whom the postholder is directly responsible. The achievement of departmental targets (e.g. for income or cost). The achievement of management performance criteria, which will be reviewed termly. Further Notes: 1. The job purpose and key task statements above are indicative and not exclusive. Given the evolving status of the College, the need for flexibility amongst its employees is considered important. 2. The post holder will be eligible to join the Local Government Pension Scheme. 3. The College operates a NO SMOKNG policy. 4. 3 Terms and Conditions: Salary: Hours: Contract: Holiday: Competitive salary 37 hours, all year Permanent Holiday entitlement of 35 days. n addition, you are entitled to 8 bank/statutory holidays and 3 concessionary days to be taken on specified days over the Christmas/New Year period to coincide with the closure of the College. Notes for isabled Candidates: Mobility to access all areas of the College is essential; ramps and lift access are available to most buildings within the College.
