PURPOSE Maintenance Electro mechanic Maintenance Captek Softgel International The Maintenance Electro Mechanic is responsible for maintenance and repair of production packaging equipment and the upkeep of facilities, buildings and grounds. The role of the Maintenance Electro mechanic is to support all site manufacturing and support activities, efficiently provide Proactive and Preventative Maintenance, repairs, installation of existing and new packaging equipment, maintain parts inventory, minimize downtime, plan, coordinate, document, communicate and provide support to Captek s Production activities. The efforts of this position will be focused on the support of the equipment and facility. Through this effort, increased capacity will be realized in support of reliability. This position plays a vital role in helping the local team achieve budgeted volumes and income goals. This position is key in promoting safety, quality, production efficiencies, and helping achieve the company's short and long term goals and objectives. B. DUTIES The duties of this position are those described below. This job description does not state or imply that the duties listed are the only duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Employees holding this position will be required to professionally perform any other job-related duties as requested by management. 1. Essential Duties. These duties directly and substantially serve to achieve the purpose of the position. Work with Maintenance Electro Mechanic Lead, Production Manager, Maintenance Supervisor and Manager in prioritizing activities, projects and follows the Lead, Supervisor and Manager instructions regarding job assignments and prioritization. Efficiently performs equipment set up, product and line changeover, preventive maintenance activities, repairs and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical malfunctions. Follow all cgmps, GDPs, Plant policies and Safety procedures. Maintain a high work ethic. Responsible for selecting and utilizing the proper tools, for planning and performing job tasks in a safe and efficient manner (complete tasks right the first time). Responsible for supporting and performing changeover and set-up of production equipment. Provide immediate response to necessary repairs demonstrating a high sense of urgency. Minimize emergency down time. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems and make appropriate repairs to get machines on line. Proactively maintain to reduce repair activities on production equipment including packaging equipment, motors, air compressors, city water lines, compressed air lines, forklifts, HVAC systems. Provide support on other manufacturing and laboratory equipment, plumbing components, exhaust fans, building lighting, encapsulation, inspection, mixing and facility equipment at Captek. Set up sorters, fillers, cappers, metal detectors, labelers, induction sealers, taping machines and packaging equipment. Daily evaluation, repair, maintenance and inspection of production equipment. Work from manufacturer s manuals and specifications to keep equipment and machinery in proper working condition. Maintain all non-edison electrical distribution panels, MCC panels, and all pushbutton stations in clean and working order. Troubleshoot and repair motors (480VAC to 24VDC) control systems, sensors, relays, starters, timers, VFD s, control panels and electric circuits in general.

2 Page 2 of 6 Design and fabricate electric panels and control systems. Bend and install conduit and run conductors. Properly lubricates equipment. Check belts, rollers, sprockets, pulleys and parts in general etc. for wear to replace/repair prior to failure. Responsible for other clean-up and maintenance tasks as needed. Install new equipment as required. Communicate any and all maintenance issues, problems or successes to the incoming shift associates. Responsible for making sure production and maintenance reports are compliant with SOPs, GDPs and cgmps practices. Accurately fill logbooks in a timely manner. Turn in completely filled out and accurate PM paperwork and work orders daily (name/initials, completion date, time worked, activities performed and parts used). Ensure that all paperwork is detailed and accurate. Support in training new production and maintenance employees. Provide support to technicians with other areas of expertise to troubleshoot simple and complex equipment problems. Utilize PLC s, computer, drawings, schematics and layouts to perform duties. Specify and order electrical parts as required. Submit work orders for all urgent or unplanned work. Be explicit. Appropriately handles Chemicals or Used Oil, Universal Waste, and Waste Manifests and Disposal. Immediate removal of all safety related equipment defects. Notify and follows up when taking the last part out of stock. If assigned work cannot be completed (due to emergencies), communicate any outstanding work orders to the Lead, Maintenance Supervisor and Manager right after the situation arises and before shift ends providing the reason for not being able to perform. Keep supervisor and manager informed of problems or achievements. Maintain clean and in order all maintenance areas such as lockers room, break room, shop, mechanical and chemical rooms and utilities areas. Keep all tools, reference materials, electrical hand tools, presses, saws and cords clean, repaired, in good working order, and returned to their proper storage area. Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality product that meet regulatory and company requirements. Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Preventative, Predictive Maintenance. Maintain Areas of Responsibility to implement and sustain the 5S program. All other duties as assigned by the Lead, Supervisor and Maintenance Manager. Participate in a high performance cross-functional team. Provide continuous support to all company s Production activities including mixing, encapsulation and inspection at Captek. 2. Other Duties General: 1. Operate industrial forklifts, scissor lifts and pallet jacks as required. 2. Provide support to other areas when required. 3. Complete all training required by Captek Softgel International by due date. 4. Must be computer literate and able to use programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel. 5. Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures. 6. Ability to write reports. 7. Give input and ideas on improving efficiencies, job and department. 8. Work independently and in a team environment 9. Provide occasional cleaning of production, support areas and general facility per cgmps and SOPs. Labor Control: 1. Work shifts as scheduled. 2. Achieve established benchmarks by working with a sense of urgency.

3 3. Work overtime only with supervisor's approval and as required. 4. Keep lunches and brakes within prescribed limits. 5. Willing to be on call and work weekends according to schedule. 6. Able to rotate shifts as needed to cover others vacation time and/or time off Maintenance Electro Mechanic Page 3 of 6 Supply Control: 1. Control excessive use of supplies. Inventory Control: 1. Make sure all paperwork is neatly and accurately completed. 2. Follow all inventory checkout procedures. 3. Keep the Purchaser and Maintenance Supervisor aware of over or shorts on inventory. Security: 1. Check outside doors to ensure they are locked. 2. Comply with any Company security programs. 3. Protect company assets at all times. Safety: 1. Abide by all safe work practice and safety rules. 2. When assignment is completed, ensures that safety devices/guards are placed back in the equipment, the job site is clear of tools and clean. 3. Maintain a clean, safe work environment by bringing all unsafe equipment or conditions to the attention of your supervisor and/or safety representative. 4. Wear all safety equipment and PPE (personal protection equipment) as required. 5. Return all flammable sprays to fire resistant cabinets and keep all chemical recipients properly labeled. Reliability: 1. Be open and willing to try new ideas. 2. Give and seek honest feedback towards reliability initiatives. 3. Share ideas that would increase equipment reliability. 4. If there is a problem with equipment, the associate needs to notify the maintenance supervisor and manager. 5. Is willing to participate in reliability committees. 6. Read bulletin boards. 7. Have a positive attitude towards reliability. 8. Complete annual goals chosen on annual performance appraisal. 9. Help production meet or exceed efficiency goals. 10. Works overtime when required. Length of Work Day/Week: 1. 8 hour day. 2. Approximately 40-hour workweek. 3. Overtime and weekend as required. C. REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) Hearing protection, hair net, beard net, eye protection, gloves, slip resistant shoes, uniform or smock and back support belt. D. Stooping: Bending body downward and forward bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. Crawling: Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet. Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time. Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances. Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward. Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles. Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole arm as in handling. Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips. Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Includes those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly. Hearing: Able to hear while in a noisy area. Vision: Attention to the surroundings when operating a forklift. Repetitive motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers. 2. Degree of physical exertion required for the position. (Check ONE.) Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary Work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work. Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects Very Heavy Work: Heavy Work: Exerting in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. 3. Environmental conditions the employee will be subject to in this position. (Check ALL that apply.) Inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Outside environmental conditions: No effective protection from weather. Both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside. Extreme cold: Temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Extreme heat: Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. Vibration: Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or the whole body. Hazard: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. Atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: Fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation. Oils: There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids. Humidity: Exposure to humid conditions ranging from 70 to 92 percent. Respirator: Use is required. None: No substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work). E. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED Individual must have a proven background as a Lead Maintenance Electro Mechanic role. Experience supervising groups of people, troubleshooting and correcting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, motors, welding, proactive and preventative maintenance issues on process and facilities equipment. Must be able to read electrical schematics and work with little or no direct Supervision. Experience in fabrication, knowledge of metals and welding is desired.

6 Page 6 of 6 Good planning, scheduling, and organizational skills are necessary for accomplishing repairs with minimal downtime. Possess strong analytical, leadership and problem solving skills. Willing to respond to emergency call in during off hours. Team player, self starter, motivator, goal oriented, strategic thinker, excellent communication skill. Safety oriented. Dependable, honest, and trustworthy. High School graduate or equivalent. Trade/technical School preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience as Maintenance electro mechanic. Must pass written Captek Softgel International, Inc. Electro mechanical test. Preferably working knowledge of NEMA classifications, grounding, frequency drives, AC and DC motors, circuit breakers, fuses, transformers, pushbuttons, selector switches, contact blocks, relays, timers and solenoid valves. Ability to draw, read and understand electrical schematics and ladder logic. Ability to use amp/volt/watt meter, megohmeters, electrical hand tools and wire; ability to solder wire.
