On Jan. 1, 2011, the LAT accumulating belt conveyors (Leiritz Automations Technik) with standard operator protection, which are supplied as licensed products, were added to the product range. After the asset acquisition of APM Spain, the core team of the former APM is now managed by TÜNKERS Ibérica, forming another pillar of conveying technology to expand the range by heavy-duty accumulating conveyors, paternosters and complete systems. 5 Initial situation: Parts supply to the manufacturing cells Individual parts in containers are transported by fork-lift trucks to the production area. Workers still insert particularly small and medium parts in LCAs, pallet conveyors, slides or parts magazines and supply the automatic manufacturing cells in this way. Conclusion: The LCA or conveyor belt is at the same time a loading area, transport system, buffer segment and supply area. 9 Complexity of the internal parts logistic increases Due to the accumulation of models and varieties in product lines, the cells have to be supplied with a wide range of different individual parts. In many cases, the provision of the required magazines and accumulating conveyors covers more space than the actual production cell.
