THROUGH OUR COMPREHENSIVE SERVICE NETWORK. 13 We are aware of the responsibility for your total cost of operation and make it the focus of our customer-oriented approach for maximum railcar availability with minimised maintenance time. The defined target of ensuring maximum availability is supported by a wide range of measures and organisational details. GATX has implemented a preventive maintenance system and trains customers on-site in loading and unloading of the railcars. It is thus often possible to prevent damage to the railcar during operation. If a repair is necessary, the customer will be provided with quick and detailed information on the expected downtime which can be reduced by the use of mobile repair teams. A network of owned workshops and certified contract partners guarantees quick and costeffective repair. If requested by the customer, we arrange for the cleaning of tanks and railcars combined with scheduled repairs to reduce downtimes. Of course, we will also handle the railcar transportation needs at the beginning of the lease and for repairs at workshops. Experience our unique quality.

SPECIALISATION AND INNOVATION 17 We continuously invest in the expansion and renewal of our fleet and are proud to operate one of the youngest and most modern fleets in Europe. We maintain our own Project Development department and therefore have extensive new building and modernisation experience. We can adapt special railcars in our own workshop to meet your needs exactly - even in small series and at attractive prices. CUSTOMISED SOLUTIONS. FOR YOUR NEEDS. Thanks to our close and long-term relationships with railcar manufacturers, we are in a position to procure railcars on relatively short notice, if necessary, and still at favourable costs. Also large series can be procured by us whenever needed. Innovation is a priority for us at all times: For example, by implementing technical and design measures, we successfully reduced the tare weight of the mineral oil car of type 1687/1697 so the load capacity is three tons more than for comparable wagons. This approach has triggered a new trend in the market. Should you require specialised equipment, railcar adaptations or new construction of small freight railcar series then GATX is the right partner for you. We have many decades experience and will try to make (almost) everything possible for you: Our own production facilities combined with extensive modernisation expertise guarantee the highest standards in safety and quality. We control the entire process from the conceptual design via certification and approval, to construction through to the delivery of new and modernised railcars, to the point of first loading. Tailored solutions include special coatings, individualised loading/unloading equipment or added safety features. We can also assist you with large-scale customer branding with our blasting and painting capabilities.

11 Our fleet STATE-OF-THE-ART TRANSPORT SOLUTIONS AVAILABILITY AND DIVERSITY. FOR SPECIAL DEMANDS. With an average age of less than 20 years, we have one of the youngest and most modern railcar fleets in Europe highly diversified for almost every product. Customer-specific adaptations and additional equipment can be implemented in many railcar types. Chemical cars and petrochemical cars Our chemical and petrochemical cars are equipped with steel and stainless steel tanks offering capacities from 20 to 121 m 3. The railcars are provided with a variety of different coatings or rubber linings. Top and/or bottom loading, as well as any instrument panel fitting, are available on customer s demand. Additional features, such as thermometers, crash buffers, instrument panel covers or roll bars can be discussed, if desired. 21 Mineral oil and pressure gas railcars GATX s mineral oil cars come with capacities of up to 97 m 3 and are available with or without heating and insulation. The pressure gas cars are equipped with varying valves and are available with capacities of up to 120 m 3 some of them are also equipped with a sun shield roof. In addition, we implement instrument panel fittings to customer specifications, retrofitting to LL brake blocks as well as any type of additional safety equipment, such as crash buffers, headshields or other features. Powder and bulk material cars The powder cars have a volume of up to 128 m 3 and are equipped with state-of-the-art pneumatic emptying systems. Depending on the moisture sensitivity of the cargo, we provide open or closed bulk material cars, which can be used at all terminals, thanks to flexible designs. The low tare weight ensures a particularly high loading capacity unloading is by gravity or pneumatic operation of the unloading hatches.
